Danilo Eccher
Danilo Eccher (Tione, Italy, June 27, 1953) is an Italian art critic and curator. Biography Eccher is the former director of Galleria Civica d'Arte Contemporanea di Trento in Trento (1989-1995), GAM - Galleria d'Arte Moderna, Bologna in Bologna (1996-2000), MACRO - Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome (2001-2008), GAM Galleria Civica d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Turin (2009-2014). As a curator, Eccher focused on contemporary painting, working with Anselm Kiefer, Georg Baselitz, Cecily Brown, Francesco Clemente, Roy Lichtenstein, Jenny Saville, Sean Scully, Julian Schnabel, Ettore Spalletti, and Tom Wesselmann. He curated solo exhibitions of Tony Cragg, Wolfgang Laib, Marisa Merz, and Hermann Nitsch. At GAM Turin he was the first Italian director adopting a thematic display. In 1993 Eccher was a member of the artistic committee of the 45th Visual Arts Venice Biennial, co-curating the international exhibition 'La Coesistenza dell'arte'. Tom Wesselmann
Thomas K. Wesselmann (February 23, 1931 – December 17, 2004) was an American artist associated with the Pop Art movement who worked in painting, collage and sculpture. Early years Wesselmann was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Cincinnati. From 1949 to 1951 he attended college in Ohio; first at Hiram College, and then transferred to major in Psychology at the University of Cincinnati. He was drafted into the US Army in 1952, but spent his service years stateside. During that time he made his first cartoons, and became interested in pursuing a career in cartooning. After his discharge he completed his psychology degree in 1954, whereupon he began to study drawing at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. He achieved some initial success when he sold his first cartoon strips to the magazines ''1000 Jokes'' and ''True (magazine), True.'' Nicola De Maria
Nicola De Maria (born 6 December 1954 in Foglianise, Italy) is an Italian painter living and working in Torino, Italy. De Maria is known for his abstract figurative works, which have been characterized as lyrical and colourful. Biography De Maria earned a master's degree in medicine but then in 1977 he executed his first wall painting in Milan. In the same year of 1977 DeMaria exhibited at the Paris Biennale. Jannis Kounellis ( el, Γιάννης Κουνέλλης; 23 March 1936 – 16 February 2017) was a Greek Italian artist based in Rome. A key figure associated with Arte Povera, he studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome. Life and work Kounellis was born in Piraeus, Greece in 1936. He lived in Greece during the Second World War and Greek Civil War before he moved to Rome in 1956. From 1960 to 1966, Kounellis went through a period of only exhibiting paintings. In some of his first exhibitions, Kounellis began stenciling numbers, letters, and words onto his canvases, often reflecting advertisements and signs seen on the street.
