Danielle Ward
Danielle Ward (born 9 October 1978) is a British stand-up comedian and writer. Career Ward worked as an economic researcher at London's South Korean Embassy before she became a comedian. In 2006, Ward won the '' Time Outs Critic's Choice award for Best Newcomer and wrote ''Take A Break Tales'' - exaggerated adaptations of women's magazine stories - in which she appeared with Neil Edmond, Emma Fryer and Isy Suttie at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The next year she co-wrote ''Psister Psycho'', a musical about a killer robotic lesbian nun, with Martin White for the 2007 Edinburgh Festival which was a cult hit and was nominated for the Chortle Award for Best Full Length Show 2008. She was also a regular member of Robin Ince's ''Book Club'' where she performed under the guise of Andy McNabb, Heather Mills McCartney, Adam Ant and David Bowie. David Reed (comedian)
David Reed (born 26 May 1982) is a British actor, writer and comedian and one third of comedy troupe The Penny Dreadfuls. Career Reed studied at the University of Edinburgh. During his studies he performed with the Edinburgh University Theatre Company, acting in, writing and directing two pantomime productions, and was a member of acclaimed improvisational comedy troupe ''The Improverts''. It was with The Improverts that he first met and performed with fellow comedians Humphrey Ker and Thom Tuck. He was also a frequent performer in the local comedy circuit and at The Stand Comedy Club, The Stand. In 2008, Reed became the drummer for Karaoke Circus, a show where comedians perform songs with an accompanying live band. Since October 2011 he has co-hosted a weekly film podcast for Absolute Radio with Karaoke Circus bassist Danielle Ward. Newswipe With Charlie Brooker
''Newswipe with Charlie Brooker'' is a British news review comedy programme broadcast on BBC Four during 2009 and 2010 which was written and presented by Charlie Brooker. It is similar to Brooker's ''Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe, Screenwipe'' series which is also shown on BBC Four. A first series of six episodes ran between 25 March 2009 and 29 April 2009. A second series began on 19 January 2010 and concluded on 23 February 2010. Format The aim of ''Newswipe'' was to expose the inner workings of news media, just as ''Screenwipe'' does to television in general. The series was a comic, thoughtful and acerbic analysis of recent news coverage. ''Newswipe'' also looked at the way the news is presented to the public. Phyllida Lloyd
Phyllida Christian Lloyd, (born 17 June 1957) is an English film director and producer, best known for '' Mamma Mia!'' (2008) and '' The Iron Lady'' (2011). Her theatre work includes directing productions at the Royal Court Theatre and Royal National Theatre, and opera director for Opera North and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. Life and career Lloyd was born and raised in Nempnett Thrubwell, Somerset, south of Bristol. ''Film Fandango'' is a weekly film discussion podcast hosted by comedians David Reed (comedian), David Reed and Marek Larwood. In its initial incarnation (October 2011 – January 2013), the podcast was hosted by Danielle Ward alongside David Reed and was distributed by Absolute Radio. Each week a guest presenter joined the hosts to discuss a new or upcoming cinema release as well as a film of his or her choosing. In October 2012, Larwood replaced Ward as host. The Loves
The Loves were a heavily 1960s influenced pop music, pop band, formed in 2000 in Cardiff, Wales. Their debut album ''Love'' was released on Track and Field Records in 2004, but attracted generally hostile press coverage, and was commercially unsuccessful. Recorded mostly by Simon Love alone, their second album ''Technicolour'' was released in 2007 on Fortuna Pop. The band recorded four Peel sessions between 2001 and 2002: three in Maida Vale and one at Peel Acres (on Valentine's Day 2002). Their third album, ''Three'', (also released on Fortuna Pop) featured guest appearances from Rob Jones aka The Voluntary Butler Scheme, Delia Sparrow, Hefner's Darren Hayman and Harry Hill's ''TV Burp'' writer Daniel Maier. Absolute Radio is a British National radio station owned and operated by Bauer as part of the Absolute Radio Network. It broadcasts nationally across the UK via Digital audio broadcasting and on 1215 kHz MW.
