Danielle Rodriguez
Danielle Victoria Rodriguez (born December 18, 1993) is an American basketball player and coach. After graduating from the University of Utah, she went on to play professionally in the Úrvalsdeild kvenna where she was named the Foreign Player of the Year in 2018 and led the league in assists in 2017 and 2019. Playing career Rodriguez played college basketball for the University of Utah. After graduating, she signed with Stjarnan in 2016. She had a standout season, averaging 23.4 points, 9.6 rebounds and league leading 5.9 assists during the regular season and leading Stjarnan to the playoffs. In the playoffs, Stjarnan were beaten in the first round by Snæfell. She returned to Stjarnan the following season and continued her strong play. On January 21, 2018, Rodriguez had a triple-double, her third of the season, with 29 points, 19 rebounds and 17 assists in an 86–64 victory against Njarðvík. Úrvalsdeild kvenna; English: Women's Premier League, known as Subway deild kvenna for sponsorship reasons, is the highest basketball competition among women's clubs in Iceland. Valur Women's Basketball
The Valur women's basketball team, commonly known as Valur, is a basketball team based in Reykjavík, Iceland. It is part of the Valur multi-sport club. In 2019, it won its first national championship. Recent history Valur played in the 2018 Úrvalsdeild finals, losing to Haukar 2-3. In April 2019, Valur won its first ever national championship when it beat Keflavík in the Úrvalsdeild finals 3-0. The team opened the 2019–20 season by defeating Keflavík, 105-81, in the annual Icelandic Super Cup. 2018–19 Úrvalsdeild Kvenna (basketball)
The 2018–19 Úrvalsdeild kvenna was the 62nd season of the Úrvalsdeild kvenna, the top tier women's basketball league on Iceland. The season started on 3 October 2018 and concluded on 27 April 2019 with Valur winning their first title after beating Keflavík 3–0 in the Úrvalsdeild finals. Competition format The participating teams first play a conventional round-robin schedule with every team playing each opponent twice "home" and twice "away" for a total of 28 games. The top four teams qualify for the championship playoffs whilst the bottom team will be relegated to 1. deild kvenna. Skallagrímur Women's Basketball
The Skallagrímur women's basketball team, commonly known as Skallagrímur, is the women's basketball department of Ungmennafélagið Skallagrímur, based in Borgarnes, Iceland. It currently plays in Úrvalsdeild kvenna. History Skallagrímur started its women's program in 1958. In 1963, it participated in the national tournament and finished as the runner-up to ÍR. The Snæfell women's basketball team, commonly known as Snæfell, is the women's basketball department of Ungmennafélagið Snæfell, based in Stykkishólmur, Iceland.
