Daniel Vukovic
Daniel Vukovic (born February 19, 1986) is a Canadian-Swiss former professional ice hockey defenceman who played for Genève-Servette HC and SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers in the National League (NL). He has dual citizenship in Canada and Switzerland. Playing career A native of North York, Ontario and a graduate of St. Michael's College School in Toronto, Ontario, Vukovic enrolled at Michigan State University in 2004 and won the men's national collegiate ice hockey championship with the Spartans in 2007. As a senior (2007–08), he earned All-CCHA Honorable Mention status and won the hardest shot competition at the NCAA Skills Challenge. He graduated in 2008. Subsequently, he turned pro and signed with Genève-Servette HC of the Swiss top-flight National League A (NLA). He made his debut for the club during the 2008–09 NLA season. Genève-Servette HC
The Genève-Servette HC (also called Servette or GSHC) is a professional ice hockey club based in Geneva, Switzerland and competing in the National League (NL), the top tier of the Swiss hockey league system. The team plays their home games at the Patinoire des Vernets, which has a seating capacity of 7,135. The team is currently the oldest team in the NL, being founded in 1905. The National League (NL) is a professional ice hockey league in Switzerland and is the top tier of the Swiss league system. Prior to the 2017–18 season, the league was known as National League A. During the 2018–19 season, the league had an average of 6,949 spectators per game which is the highest among European leagues (ahead of the KHL with 6,397 and the DEL with 6,215). The capital city's club SC Bern has been ranked first of all European clubs for 18 seasons and had an average attendance of 16,290 after the regular season. Swiss Cup (ice Hockey)
The Swiss Cup was the national ice hockey cup competition of Switzerland which had been played annually from 2015 until 2021. The tournament was originally played from 1957 to 1966, then once more in 1972. On 28 May 2013, the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation announced that the cup will be revived from the 2014–15 season. At the beginning of the 2020-21 season, the SIHF announced that the 2021 edition would be the last one. Champions Hockey League
The Champions Hockey League is a European first-level ice hockey tournament. Launched in the 2014–15 season by 26 clubs, 6 leagues and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), the tournament features top teams across Europe. Background The IIHF launched a tournament with the same name in 2008 to coincide with the IIHF's 100th anniversary. The tournament's only season was played between 8 October 2008 and 28 January 2009, and was won by the ZSC Lions who got to play in the 2009 Victoria Cup game as a result. The IIHF planned to launch another season but was ultimately forced to cancel the tournament due to problems finding sponsors during the concurrent global economic crisis and failure to agree on a tournament format.
