Daniel Timofte
Daniel Timofte (born 1 October 1967) is a Romanian football manager and former player who played as an attacking midfielder, most notably for Turkish club Samsunspor. Club career Timofte debuted in Divizia A with Jiul Petroșani in 1986. The team was relegated that season, but Timofte helped them earn promotion again before he joined Dinamo București in 1989. The following season, he won the double with Dinamo. He later played in Germany and Turkey, and he retired in 2000 after his third spell with Dinamo. Timofte made his debut for the Romania national team in 1990 against Egypt, scoring in his debut match. At the 1990 FIFA World Cup he had a penalty kick saved in the penalty shootout against Ireland by Packie Bonner in the round of sixteen, which caused Romania's exit from the tournament. Petrila
Petrila (; hu, Petrilla) is a town in the Jiu Valley, Hunedoara County, Transylvania, Romania. It is located near the confluence of the rivers Jiul de Est, Taia, and Jieț. Gheorghe Mulțescu (; born 13 November 1951) is a Romanian professional football manager and a former football player. Club career Gheorghe Mulțescu made his Divizia A debut playing for Jiul Petroșani in a 0–0 against Crișul Oradea. He played 8 seasons in his first period spent at Jiul Petroșani, gaining a total of 239 Divizia A appearances in which he scored 74 goals, also he scored two goals in the 4–2 victory against Politehnica Timișoara in the 1974 Cupa României final, helping Jiul win the first trophy in the club's history and played two games in the 1974–75 European Cup Winners' Cup. The Liga I (; ''First League''), also spelled as Liga 1, is a Romanian professional league for men's association football clubs. Currently sponsored by betting company Superbet, it is officially known as the SuperLiga. It is the country's top football competition, being contested by 16 clubs which take part in a promotion and relegation system with the Liga II. The teams play 30 matches each in the regular season, before entering the championship play-offs or the relegation play-outs according to their position in the regular table. Petroșani
Petroșani (; Hungarian: ''Petrozsény''; German: ''Petroschen'') is a city in Hunedoara County, Transylvania, Romania, with a population of 34,331 (2011). The city has been associated with mining since the 19th century. History "Pietros" means "stony, rocky" in Romanian. The city of Petroșani was founded in the 17th century (around 1640) with the name Petrozsény. In 1720, an Austrian cartographer mentions that the entire Jiu Valley was intensely populated and settlements could be seen from one end to the other. During the 1818 census, Petrozsény had 233 inhabitants, while the entire Valley counted 2,550. Tolka Park
Tolka Park ( ga, Páirc na Tulchann) is an Irish football ground located in the north Dublin suburb of Drumcondra, on the northern banks of the River Tolka. It is currently the home ground of League of Ireland club Shelbourne. The stadium formerly held 9,680 people, but this has been scaled down in recent times due to health and safety regulations in the venue, mainly concerning the 'New' and Ballybough stands. The 1990–91 European Cup was the 36th season of the European Cup, a tournament for men's football clubs in nations affiliated to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). It was won for the first time by Red Star Belgrade on penalties in the final against Marseille; both were first-time finalists. This was only the second time that an Eastern European side had won the competition, after Steaua București of Romania in 1986. It was also the last tournament to be solely knock-out based, with a group stage added for the next season. Patrick Joseph Bonner (born 24 May 1960) is an Irish retired footballer who played as a goalkeeper and spent his entire career at Celtic. He earned a total of 80 caps for the Republic of Ireland national football team after making his debut on his 21st birthday.
