Daniel O'Brien, 1st Viscount Clare
Sir Daniel O'Brien, 1st Viscount Clare also called Donal ( – 1666) was an Irish politician and soldier. He was born a younger son of Connor O'Brien, 3rd Earl of Thomond. He fought against the insurgents at Tyrone's Rebellion, but for the insurgents in the Irish Rebellion of 1641 and the Irish Confederate Wars. He resisted the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland. He joined Charles II of England in exile and was in his eighties made a viscount at the Restoration. Birth and origins Daniel or Donal was born about 1577, the third and youngest son of Connor O'Brien and his second wife, Una O'Brien. or in 1666 and was succeeded by his eldest surviving son, Connor. Daniel Peter O'Brien (born 1971) is an American baseball coach who currently works in the player development department of the San Francisco Giants organization. He was named to that position prior to the 2018 season. He previously coached Santa Clara University and the University of California, San Diego's baseball programs. Education and minor league playing career O'Brien played at UC San Diego, led the team in home runs, continues to rank highly on several career lists. In his first year, he helped the team to a third-place finish in the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship. Daniel Hosler O'Brien (born November 23, 1947, in Findlay, Ohio) is an American author, wildlife biologist, and rancher. Biography Dan O'Brien was born in Findlay, Ohio, on November 23, 1947. He attended Findlay High School and graduated in 1966. He went to Michigan Technological University to play football and graduated with a BS degree in Math and Business from Findlay College in 1970 where he was the chairman of the first campus Earth Day. He earned an MA in English Literature from the University of South Dakota in 1973 where he studied under Frederick Manfred. Daniel F. O'Brien Jr. (born c. 1954) is an American baseball executive who served as general manager of the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB) from October 2003 to January 2006. Biography O'Brien began his career in the Seattle Mariners front office in 1977 (the team's inaugural season), then switched to the Houston Astros in 1982, serving first as the team's farm system director and then its scouting director through 1996. Daniel O'Brien, 3rd Viscount Clare (died 1691), was with King Charles II in exile during the interregnum. At the Restoration, he obtained the title of Viscount Clare for his grandfather and full restoration of the family's lands. At the Glorious Revolution he supported James II, sitting in the Patriot Parliament and fighting for him at the Battle of the Boyne. He was in consequence attainted as a Jacobite.
