Daniel McKenna (born 3 April 1987) is a rally driver from Co. Monaghan in Ireland. In 2014, he became only the third Irishman to win the British Rally Championship and earned a WRC-3 and JWRC drive for 2015. County Monaghan ( ; ga, Contae Mhuineacháin) is a county in Ireland. It is in the province of Ulster and is part of Border strategic planning area of the Northern and Western Region. British Rally Championship
The British Rally Championship is a rallying series based in the United Kingdom. The first championship was run in 1958 and it has been licensed by the Motor Sports Association (MSA) since 1999. MSA has opted not to run the series in 2015, instead giving its promotion to its own subsidiary (IMS) for 2016. Champions British Rally Championship *In 2000, Ipatti used both Kari Kajala and Teppo Leino as co-drivers during the season. Hence, runner-up Mark Higgins' co-driver Bryan Thomas was awarded the co-drivers title. Two similar situations occurred in 2004 & 2008. WRC-3
The FIA WRC3 is a support championship of the World Rally Championship. The calendar consists of the same rallies and stages as the parent series and crews usually compete immediately after WRC2 entrants. Entry into WRC3 is limited to cars that are based on production models and homologated under Group Rally3 rules, although prior to 2022 Group Rally2 cars were used. There are championship titles awarded to drivers and co-drivers. The current format of the series began in 2020. History The original incarnation of the series began in 2013 and was open to two-wheel drive cars competing under Group R1, R2 and R3 regulations. JWRC
The FIA Junior WRC, also known as JWRC and previously known as Junior World Rally Championship, is an international rallying competition restricted to drivers under 29 years old. The championship currently consists of five select rallies of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) calendar. The category has been a stepping stone in the careers of WRC Champion Sébastien Ogier, Dani Sordo, Elfyn Evans and Thierry Neuville. Junior WRC differs from the WRC support championships, WRC2 and WRC3, as the competition is managed and promoted by M-Sport Poland under contract to the FIA. All cars are identical, provided and serviced by M-Sport on the entrants' behalf. The car used in 2022 was a Ford Fiesta Rally3. Championship titles are awarded to the winning Driver and Co-Driver. 2014 British Rally Championship Season
The 2014 MSA British Rally Championship was the 56th season of the British Rally Championship. The season began on 3 May in Carlisle with the Pirelli Richard Burns Foundation Rally and ended on 13 September in Douglas with the Rally Isle of Man powered by Microgaming. The championship was won by the Irish crew of Daniel McKenna and Arthur Kierans, who won four of the season's six rallies, to win the championship by eleven points ahead of Osian Pryce and Dale Furniss; Pryce and Furniss won the other two events to be held.
