Daniel Levy (pianist)
Daniel Levy (born 1947) is a classical pianist from Argentina. He is also an author, radio broadcaster and educator. Early life Levy was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He began playing the piano at age six and received a musical education under the tutorship of Ana Gelber and Vincenzo Scaramuzza, whose former pupils include Martha Argerich and Bruno Leonardo Gelber. He gave his debut performance at age 16, playing a piano recital with works by Bach, Chopin and Schumann. In 1967 he won the piano competition and in 1969 was announced the winner of the Mozarteum piano competition. Professional career Levy has recorded extensively over a 43-year career, with a catalogue of over 50 recordings for the Nimbus Records, Edelweiss Emission and Syntony record labels. His recording career has included a number of notable collaborations with artists that include Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, the Philharmonia Orchestra, Wolfgang Holzmair and Franco Maggio Ormezowski. Daniel Joseph Levy (born 9 August 1983) is a Canadian actor, writer and producer. Born in Toronto to parents Eugene Levy and Deborah Divine, he began his career as a television host on MTV Canada. He received international prominence and critical acclaim for starring as David Rose in the CBC sitcom ''Schitt's Creek'' (2015–2020), which he co-created with his father and co-starred in with him and his sister, Sarah Levy. For producing, writing, directing, and acting in the final season of ''Schitt's Creek'', Levy became the first person to win a Primetime Emmy Award in all four major disciplines in a single year. He began performing stand-up in the 2000s and has released three comedy albums, including his most recent special ''Dan Levy: Lion'' in 2016. The Dø
The Dø is a Finnish-French indie pop band founded in Paris in 2005. The band is composed of Olivia Merilahti (singer and musician) and Dan Levy (multi-instrumentalist). The duo has been backed on stage by three different drummers: Jérémie Pontier (2007–08), José Joyette (2008–09), and Pierre Belleville (since 2009). Sir Daniel Levy (30 November 1872 – 20 May 1937) was an Australian politician. Early life He was born in London to tailor Joseph Levy and Esther, ''née'' Cohen. He arrived in Sydney in 1880 and attended Crown Street Superior School, Sydney Grammar School and the University of Sydney, graduating with a first in Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in 1893 and a Bachelor of Law in 1895, in which year he was called to the Bar. In 1902 he was admitted as a solicitor. Levy was active in Jewish affairs and was co-editor of the ''Australasian Hebrew'' newspaper in 1896 with Percy J. Marks. Daniel Levy (born 1962) is a German–American political sociologist and an Associate Professor of Sociology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Levy earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and political science (1986) and a Master of Arts in sociology (1990) from Tel Aviv University, as well as a Doctorate of sociology from Columbia University in 1999. Daniel Levy is a cardiologist who is the director of the Framingham Heart Study at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, a division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He is also Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine. He is known for his research on the epidemiology and genetics of heart failure and hypertension. Levy received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1976 and his M.D. from Boston University School of Medicine in 1980.
