Daniel Brown (American Football)
Daniel Brown (born May 26, 1992) is an American football tight end who is a free agent. He played college football at James Madison, and was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2015. He also played for the Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs. High school career Brown attended Isle of Wight Academy, where he was a three-sport athlete (basketball, football, and baseball). From 2005-2007, he helped Isle of Wight win three consecutive state championships. As a junior, he was named Second-team All-State and First-team All-conference. As senior, he was named First-team All-state, as well as All-Conference. During his junior and senior seasons in basketball, he was named First-team All-state and All-conference. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. The 2011 James Madison Dukes football team represented James Madison University in the 2011 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Dukes were led by 13th year head coach Mickey Matthews and played their home games at Bridgeforth Stadium and Zane Showker Field. They are a member of the Colonial Athletic Association. They finished the season 8–5, 5–3 in CAA play to finish in a tie for fifth place. They received an at-large bid into the FCS playoffs where they defeated Eastern Kentucky in the first round before falling to North Dakota State in the second round. 2010 James Madison Dukes Football Team
The 2010 James Madison Dukes football team represents James Madison University in the 2010 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Dukes were led by 12th year head coach Mickey Matthews in what proved to be a roller-coaster season. The Dukes made college football history when they knocked off in-state power #13 Virginia Tech, on the road, in front of over 66,000 fans. James Madison became the second FCS team to beat a nationally ranked FBS opponent since Appalachian State defeated #5 ranked Michigan in 2007. Not long after the victory of Virginia Tech the injuries began to mount up and paired with a difficult in-conference schedule. JMU finished the season 6–5 with nine of the eleven games decided by 7 points or less. An academic major is the academic discipline to which an undergraduate student formally commits. A student who successfully completes all courses required for the major qualifies for an undergraduate degree. Most Valuable Player
In team sports, a most valuable player award, abbreviated 'MVP award', is an honor typically bestowed upon an individual (or individuals, in the instance of a tie) whose individual performance is the greatest in an entire league, for a particular competition, or on a specific team. The purpose of the award is recognize the contribution of the individual's efforts amongst a group effort, and to highlight the excellence, exemplariness, and/or outstandingness of a player's performance amidst the performance of their peers in question. The term can have different connotations depending on the context in which it is used. A 'League MVP' is the most valuable player in an entire league, and refers to the player whose performance is most excellent in the league. In team sport, captain is a title given to a member of the team. The title is frequently honorary, but in some cases the captain may have significant responsibility for strategy and teamwork while the game is in progress on the field.
