Daniel Armstrong (film Director)
Daniel Armstrong is an Australian film director. Armstrong is also known for his work as a writer, producer and editor. Private life Armstrong grew up in Melbourne, Australia, attending the private school Scotch College, Melbourne. He continued his studies at Melbourne University from 1990 - 1994 receiving a Bachelor of Commerce/Law and a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree. After graduating Armstrong went on to travel, spending time in the UK, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and America. Upon his return to Australia in 1998 he completed a post graduate diploma in Multimedia Studies from Swinburne University. Never having had any formal film school training, Armstrong credits his expertise to on-the-job experience. Combining all aspects of his favourite movie genres Armstrong coined the term "Neo-Pulp" describing it as "lovingly embracing the most extreme, cliche, and supercilious elements of pop culture and pulp literature and putting them in a human context... MurderDrome
''Murderdrome'' is the title of a mobile comic created by Al Ewing and PJ Holden. It is an ironic pastiche of certain British 'boys adventure' comics of the late seventies, particularly ''Action''. It contains scenes of on-panel decapitation and extremely over-the-top dialogue. The series is notable because it is one of the first comics to be drawn specifically for the iPhone with the intention of distribution through the App Store. This has been made possible by the "Comic Reader App" developed for the iPhone by Infurious Comics. However, the Murderdrome project is surrounded by controversy as 'Murderdrome' has been rejected by Apple on the grounds of 'objectionable content'. Although Apple have defended this decision, it has been described by some as blatant censorship. However, the publicity got the Comic Reader App attention, which resulted in NBC licensing it for their ''Heroes'' comics. A short film is any motion picture that is short enough in running time not to be considered a feature film.
