Dangerous (Bill Hicks Album)
''Dangerous'' is the first live album by American stand-up comedian and satirist Bill Hicks, released in 1990 by Invasion Records. Much of the material was previously performed in Hicks' ''Sane Man'' special in 1989. Hicks explained the title to the ''Los Angeles Times'' by referencing a quote he attributed to Thomas Jefferson, although the veracity of the quote is not confirmed. efferson'squote was "No idea is dangerous to society wherein that idea can be openly discussed." That's why the album is called "Dangerous," because I'm discussing drugs and things drugs do. In 1997, Rykodisc issued remastered versions of both ''Dangerous'' and its follow-up, ''Relentless'' (1992), on CD, as well as the posthumous albums '' Arizona Bay'' and '' Rant in E-Minor''. Track listing Personnel *Bill Hicks – performer ;Technical *Peter Casperson – producer, executive producer *Matt Hathaway – engineer *Nancy Albino – engineer *Sam Smith – editing assistant *Joel Soyffer – mixi ...

Bill Hicks
William Melvin Hicks (December 16, 1961 – February 26, 1994) was an American stand-up comedian, social critic, satirist, and musician. His material—encompassing a wide range of social issues including religion, politics, and philosophy—was controversial and often steeped in dark comedy. At the age of 16, while still in high school, Hicks began performing at the Comedy Workshop in Houston, Texas. During the 1980s, he toured the U.S. extensively and made a number of high-profile television appearances, but it was in the UK that he amassed a significant fan base, filling large venues during his 1991 tour. He also achieved some recognition as a guitarist and songwriter. Hicks died of pancreatic cancer on February 26, 1994, at the age of 32. In subsequent years, his work gained significant acclaim in creative circles—particularly after a series of posthumous album releases—and he developed a substantial cult following. In 2007, he was No. 6 on Channel 4's list of the "10 ...

Hicks contends that the world will be better off in L.A.'s absence: On April 28, 2015, Comedy Dynamics released a new version of the album in the digital format called ''Arizona Bay Extended'', featuring "a raw and uncut show that comprised the original ''Arizona Bay'' album." Musical content Several of Hicks's albums are unique in that they feature background music, meant to enhance the album's mood. Such additions were made well after the initial recordings and are the product of Hicks's own musicianship. According to Kevin Booth, in the BBC documentary ''Dark Poet'', it was d ...
