Barbados
Barbados is an island country in the Lesser Antilles of the West Indies, in the Caribbean region of the Americas, and the most easterly of the Caribbean Islands. It occupies an area of and has a population of about 287,000 (2019 estimate). Its capital and largest city is Bridgetown. Barbados National Cricket Team
The Barbados national cricket team is the national cricket team of Barbados, organised by the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA). Barbados is a member of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), which is a member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in its own right, and Barbadians play internationally for the West Indies cricket team. Barbados does not take part in any international competitions (the 1998 Commonwealth Games tournament being an exception), but rather in inter-regional competitions in the Caribbean, such as the Professional Cricket League (which includes the Regional Four Day Competition and the Regional Super50). The team competes in the Professional Cricket League under the franchise name Barbados Pride. Left-arm orthodox spin, Left-arm off spin also known as slow left-arm orthodox spin bowling, is a type of Finger spin, left-arm finger spin bowling (cricket), bowling in the sport of cricket. Left-arm orthodox spin is bowled by a left-arm bowler finger spin, using the fingers to spin the ball from right to left of the cricket pitch (from the bowler's perspective). List A cricket is a classification of the limited-overs (one-day) form of the sport of cricket, with games lasting up to eight hours. List A cricket includes One Day International (ODI) matches and various domestic competitions in which the number of overs in an innings per team ranges from forty to sixty, as well as some international matches involving nations who have not achieved official ODI status. The Jamaica national cricket team or officially the Jamaica Scorpions, is the representative first-class cricket team representing Jamaica at the West Indies domestic competitions. History The team's history goes back to 1895, when they played three matches against a touring side from England led by Slade Lucas, but because of the distance to the other cricketing countries, Jamaica did not play regular first-class cricket until 1964. They played in the inaugural Shell Shield first-class competition, winning it on the fourth attempt, but then had to wait until 1977–78 for their next title – which was a shared one-day title with Leeward Islands. 2015–16 Regional Super50
The 2015–16 NAGICO Super50 was the 42nd edition of the Regional Super50, the domestic limited-overs cricket competition for the countries of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). The tournament was co-hosted by Saint Kitts and Trinidad and Tobago, with the final held at Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain. Eight teams participated in the competition – the six regular teams of West Indian domestic cricket (Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, the Leeward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Windward Islands), plus two development teams (Combined Campuses and Colleges and ICC Americas). The ICC Americas team, featuring players from countries outside the scope of the WICB, was competing for the first time. Trinidad and Tobago eventually defeated Barbados in the final, winning their twelfth domestic one-day title.
