Dandenong Stingrays
The Dandenong Southern Stingrays are an Australian rules football team in the NAB League, the Victorian statewide under-18s competition. 1992 saw the birth of the Southern Stingrays, developed under the leadership of Steve Kennedy (Regional Manager) and Ron Roach (Promotions Manager) with its home base located at Ben Kavanagh Reserve, Mordialloc. The side is coached in the inaugural year by Peter Russo. In 1995 the club moved from Mordialloc to Dandenong and it also changed its name to the Dandenong Southern Stingrays. The club is currently under the leadership of Darren Flanigan (Region Talent Manager) and Matthew Crozier (Female Talent Coordinator) with the home base located at Shepley Oval, Dandenong. The side is coached by Nick Cox. NAB League
The NAB League Boys (also referred to as simply the NAB League and formerly known as the TAC Cup) is an under-19 Australian rules football representative competition held in Australia. It is based on geographic regions throughout country Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne with each team representing twelve Victorian regions, while a thirteenth team from Tasmania was reintroduced in 2019. The competition is sponsored by National Australia Bank (NAB), having previously been sponsored by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) since its inception. The competition is one of the primary sources of recruitment for Australian Football League (AFL) clubs. It provides an opportunity for talented regional players to participate in a high standard competition without having to relocate too far from their place of origin. Paul Corrigan (footballer)
Paul Corrigan (born 30 July 1977) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Geelong in the Australian Football League (AFL). Corrigan currently serves as the development coach at the Essendon Football Club. AFL career Corrigan was selected by Geelong with pick 43 in the 1996 National Draft, from the Melbourne Football Club, where he had played in the reserves. He made 53 appearances for Geelong from 1997 to 2000, then didn't play a senior game in 2001, instead winning the reserves best and fairest award. Coaching Corrigan returned to his original club, Rythdale-Officer-Cardinia, in 2002, as a playing coach, and was a member of their premiership team that year. Daniel Wulf
Daniel Wulf (born 19 May 1980) is an Australian rules footballer, who played for St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Wulf originally played for Doveton and Dandenong Stingrays. He was recruited by the Western Bulldogs with the 16th selection in the 1999 Pre-season Draft. In his first season, Wulf had stress fractures in his foot and missed 10 weeks. The Bulldogs delisted Wulf at the end of 1999. In 2000, Wulf played for East Burwood, but was able to be called up to play for St Kilda, but he did not play for St Kilda all season. At the end of 2000, Wulf was drafted by St Kilda with the 82nd selection in the 2000 AFL Draft. One of Wulf made his AFL debut in round 14 of the 2001 season, against Brisbane. David Hille
David Hille (born 2 June 1981) is a former Australian rules footballer with the Essendon Football Club. Early life In his senior year at high school, Hille and seven other schoolmates from Peninsula Grammar lodged themselves into a station wagon and crashed it 500m up the road from where they took off in South Frankston. Three of the boys in the car were killed, and the other three seriously injured, but Hille was not injured. The accident report claims that Hille was wearing his seatbelt, which is why he has appeared on commercials about buckling up when driving. Craig Jacotine (born 21 June 1980) is a former Australian rules footballer who played in the Australian Football League Jacotine was an unlucky player considering his credentials. Toby Thurstans (born 14 August 1980) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Career Thurstans was drafted from the Dandenong Stingrays at selection 39 in the 1998 National AFL Draft. He could not get a game and played in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) for Sturt until his AFL debut for Port Adelaide in Round 1, 2003 versus West Coast Eagles at Subiaco. Thurstans won Port's best first year player award for season 2003. Brendan Fevola (born 20 January 1981) is a former professional Australian rules footballer. He played with the Carlton and Brisbane Lions football clubs in the Australian Football League (AFL). Adam Ramanauskas
Adam Ramanauskas (born 19 November 1980) is a former Australian rules footballer for the Essendon Football Club. Of Lithuanian descent, Ramanauskas was selected at no. 12 in the 1998 AFL Draft and was mainly a defender or midfielder. Darren Hulme
Darren Hulme (born 19 July 1977) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Carlton. Hulme played junior football for the Frankston Bombers, and the Dandenong Stingrays in the TAC Cup. He was recruited to the AFL with the 8th selection in the 1997 AFL Preseason Draft. Very small in stature, but tough and hard at the ball, Hulme played primarily as a midfielder and/or tagger with stints in the forward-line. Andrew Williams (born 1 March 1979) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the West Coast Eagles and Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Kris Massie (born Kristiaan Martinger, 30 May 1980) is an Australian rules football coach and former player who played for the Carlton Football Club and Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).
