Dance Nation is a Dutch Electronic Dance Music formation founded in 2001 by songwriters, producers and DJs Rob Janssen & Brad Grobler. Dutch singers and performers Sean & Kim are the live act fronting Dance Nation since their first and highly successful single "Sunshine". Biography Early years (2001-2003) Dance Nation released their debut single 'Sunshine' in 2001. This was followed by singles such as "Dance", "Words", and "You Take Me Away". In 2004, they switched to the name "Double Nation" due to legal proceedings. Clare Barron is a playwright and actor from Wenatchee, Washington. She won the 2015 Obie Award, Obie Award for Playwriting for ''You Got Older''. She was a finalist for the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for ''Dance Nation.'' Early life In an interview, Barron said that she became interested in theatre in her early teens. "I was in a Shakespeare troupe for children in my hometown of Wenatchee, Washington, which was run by the playwright Heidi Schreck’s mother, Sherry Schreck." Dance Nation (record Label)
Dance Nation was a British independent record label which was a subsidiary of Ministry of Sound. When founded in 2007 it was known as Hard2Beat Records, and was rebranded to its current name in 2010. The label's first release was " Now You're Gone" by Basshunter, and they have released other singles and compilation albums since then. In April 2009 they held ''Dance Nation Live'', a live arena tour across the UK. Basshunter headlined the tour with acts including Sash!, Lasgo, and Platnum. Dance Nation had its own customized content channel on Audiotube. The label brand was used as a Sky TV Channel in 2012, since it has not had any new releases or live tours. The official website went offline in April 2015 as well as all social media sites.
