Danan ( so, Dhanan) is one of the districts in the Somali Region of Ethiopia, named after its major town, Danan. Part of the Gode Zone, Danan is bordered on the south by Gode, on the west by Imiberi, on the north by the Fiq Zone, and on the east by the Korahe Zone. Demographics Based on the 2007 Census conducted by the Central Statistical Agency of Ethiopia (CSA), this woreda has a total population of 23,784, of whom 13,274 are men and 10,510 women. While 6,135 or 25.8% are urban inhabitants, a further 7,728 or 32.49% are pastoralists. 99.07% of the population said they were Muslim. Districts of Ethiopia, also called woredas ( am, ወረዳ; ''woreda''), are the third level of the administrative divisions of Ethiopia – after ''zones'' and the '' regional states''. These districts are further subdivided into a number of wards called ''kebele'' neighbourhood associations, which are the smallest unit of local government in Ethiopia. Danan, Ethiopia
Danan ( so, Dhanaan) (or "Denan") is a town in the eastern part of Ethiopia known as the Ogaden. Located in the Gode Zone of the Somali Region (or ''kilil''), and it is located the main road between Gode and Kebri Dahar (Qabridahare) the nearest towns with electricity. Gode Zone
Shabelle is one of nine Zones of the Somali Region of Ethiopia. It was previously known as Gode ( so, Godey, ar, غودي), so named after its largest city, Gode. Shabelle is bordered on the west by Afder, on the north by Fiq, on the northeast by Korahe. On the south it borders the Provisional Administrative Line of Somalia along the borders of the Hirshabelle and Galmudug federal states. Gode (woreda)
Gode (Godey) is a woreda in the Somali Region of Ethiopia, named after its major town, Gode. Part of the Gode Zone, Gode is bordered on the south by the Shebelle River which separates it from Adadle, on the northwest by Imiberi, on the north by Danan, on the northeast by the Korahe Zone, and on the southeast by Kelafo. The average elevation in this woreda is 358 meters above sea level. , Gode has 125 kilometers of all-weather gravel road and 630 kilometers of community roads; about 3.53% of the total population has access to drinking water. Imiberi ( so, Iimeey Bari) is one of the woredas in the Somali Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Gode Zone, Imiberi is bordered on the southwest by the Shebelle River which separates it from the Afder Zone, on the north by the Fiq Zone, on the east by Danan, and on the southeast by Gode. Fiq Zone
Nogob ( so, Nogob), formerly known as Fik, is a zone in Somali Region of Ethiopia. Nogob Zone is bordered on the south by Gode, on the southwest by Afder Zone, on the west and northwest by the Oromia Region, on the north by Fafan, on the east by Jarar, and on the southeast by Korahe Zone. Erer River flows through this zone. Nogob has 9 woredas: Fik, Segeg, Garbo, Lagahida, Salehad, Hamero, duhun, Meyumuluku, Qubi and Goljano. Korahe Zone
Korahe ( so, Qoraxeey) is one of eleven Zones of the Somali Region of Ethiopia. Korahe is bordered on the southwest by the Gode, on the northwest by Fiq, on the north by Degehabur, on the east by Werder, and on the southeast by Somalia's federal state of Galmudug. The largest city in Korahe is Kebri Dahar. The gas fields of Calub and Hilala lie in this Zone, making local petrochemical extraction a potentially important industry. The Central Statistical Agency (CSA; Amharic: ማዕከላዊ ስታቲስቲክስ ኤጀንሲ) is an agency of the government of Ethiopia designated to provide all surveys and censuses for that country used to monitor economic and social growth, as well as to act as an official training center in that field. It is part of the Ethiopian Ministry of Finance and Economic Development. The Director General of the CSA is Samia Zekaria. Islam is the second-largest religion in Ethiopia behind Christianity, with 31.3 to 35.9 percent of the total population of around 113.5 million people professing the religion as of 2022. The Ogaden ( so, Ogaadeen, ar, أوغادين) is one of the major Somali clans. Overview Members of the Ogaden clan primarily live in the central Ogaden plateau of Ethiopia (Somali Region), the North Eastern Province of Kenya, and the Jubaland region of Southern Somalia.
