Dana McCauley
Dana McCauley (born July 7, 1966, in Newmarket, Ontario) is a Canadian chef, food writer, food trend tracker, spokesperson, and international corporate food consultant. Dana is the former food editor for ''Gardening Life'', ''Homemakers'', and ''Style at Home'' magazines. She was President of Dana McCauley & Associates Ltd., a company based in Maple, Ontario, that provided services to the food industry, including grocery product development, recipe writing, research, food writing, and food trend tracking and analysis. It was sold to Amy Snider/Whitson, who renamed it The Test Kitchen Incorporated. Dana was also worked as the executive chef for DineWise, an online gourmet food company. At the same time, McCauley took a job with Janes Family Foods as their culinary director. In addition, she was cast as an on-air judge on the Food Network Canada original reality series called ''Recipe to Riches''. Newmarket, Ontario
Newmarket ( 2021 population: 87,942) is a town and regional seat of the Regional Municipality of York in the Canadian province of Ontario. It is part of Greater Toronto in the Golden Horseshoe region of Southern Ontario. The name stems from the fact that the settlement was a "New Market", in contrast to York as the ''Old Market''. The town was formed as one of many farming communities in the area, but also developed an industrial centre on the Northern Railway of Canada's mainline, which was built in 1853 through what would become the downtown area. It also became a thriving market town with the arrival of the Metropolitan Street Railway in 1899. Over time, the town developed into a primarily residential area, and the expansion of Ontario Highway 400 to the west and the construction of Ontario Highway 404 to the east increasingly turned it into a bedroom town since the 1980s. René Verdon
René Verdon (June 29, 1924 – February 2, 2011) was a French-born American chef and author. Verdon was the chef for the White House during the administrations of John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson. Verdon was hired by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in 1961. Early life Verdon was born in Pouzauges, western France in 1924. His family owned a bakery and pastry shop. He had two older brothers, a baker and pâtissier, this is where he got his inspiration to become a chef. At the age of 13 Verdon began an apprenticeship after which he worked in several prestigious restaurants in Paris and Deauville including Le Berkeley. He emigrated to the United States in 1958. Once in New York, Verdon found work at the Essex House restaurant as well as La Caravelle and the Carlyle Hotel. Its final hosts were Beverly Thomson and Marci Ien, with Jeff Hutcheson presenting the weather forecast and sports.
