Dana Gilbert
Dana Gilbert (born November 26, 1959) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Biography Gilbert grew up in California, one of three siblings. Her youngest brother is Brad Gilbert, who also played tennis professionally, and made it to four in the world. She attended Piedmont High School (California), Piedmont High School, and then UCLA Bruins, UCLA on a tennis scholarship and played number one singles. At the age of 17 she won a gold medal at the 1977 Maccabiah Games in Israel, a competition for Israeli and Jewish athletes, defeating Stacy Margolin, the number 8 under-18 player in the U.S. At the 1981 Maccabiah Games, she and Donna Rubin won a gold medal in the women's doubles. Playing as a wildcard, she was a surprise winner of the 1978 U.S. Clay Court Championships, on her professional debut. Virginia Ruzici (born 31 January 1955) is a former professional tennis player from Romania. She won the 1978 French Open singles championship. Career Ruzici became a professional tennis player in 1975. One of her main assets on court was her powerful forehand. In a career spanning 12 years, Ruzici won 12 career singles titles, including one Grand Slam title, the 1978 French Open. In the final, she beat 1977 French Open champion Mima Jaušovec 6–2, 6–2. Viviana Marina González Locicero (born 22 April 1958) is an Argentine former professional tennis player. She is also known by her married name Viviana Segal. Donna Rubin (born October 5, 1959) is an American former professional tennis player. She represented the U.S. at the 1977 Maccabiah Games in Israel, winning a silver medal in doubles with Jodi Appelbaum-Steinbauer, and at the 1981 Maccabiah Games, she and Dana Gilbert won a gold medal in women's doubles. She played doubles at the French Open in 1984. Biography A New York native, Rubin played on the boys' team at Rye Neck High School. She was a member of the United States Junior Federation Cup side.
