Dana DeMuth
Dana Andrew DeMuth (born May 30, 1956) is a former umpire in Major League Baseball. Umpiring career DeMuth advanced through the minor leagues to the Triple-A Pacific Coast League before joining the National League staff full-time June 3, 1983. He continued umpiring in the National League until the umpiring staffs of the American and National Leagues merged in 2000. He was a crew chief from 1999 to 2019. DeMuth wore the uniform number 32 throughout his career. His postseason assignments included 11 Division Series (1996, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2017), 5 League Championship Series (1991, 1995, 2000, 2002 and 2007), and 5 World Series ( 1993, 1998, 2001, 2009 and 2013). He also umpired in the All-Star Game in 1990, 2001, and 2009, working behind the plate for the second and third contests, and worked the 2009 World Baseball Classic. Fremont is a city in and the county seat of Sandusky County, Ohio, United States, located along the banks of the Sandusky River. It is about 35 miles from Toledo and 25 miles from Sandusky. 2009 World Baseball Classic
The 2009 World Baseball Classic (WBC) was an international baseball competition. It began on 5 9 and finished 5 26. Unlike in 2006, when the round-robin format of the first two rounds led to some eliminations being decided by run-difference tiebreakers, the first two rounds of the 2009 edition were modified double-elimination format. The modification was that the final game of each bracket was winner-take-all, even if won by the team emerging from the loser's bracket, although that game only affected seeding, as two teams always advanced from each bracket. The biggest surprise in the first round was the Netherlands, which twice defeated the Dominican Republic in Pool D to advance. World Baseball Classic
The World Baseball Classic (WBC) is an international baseball tournament sanctioned from 2006 to 2013 by the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) and after 2013 by World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) in partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB). It was proposed to the IBAF by Major League Baseball (MLB), the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA), and other professional baseball leagues and their players associations around the world. It is one of the two main senior baseball tournaments sanctioned by the WBSC, but the only one which grants to the winner the title of "World Champion". The 2013 World Series was the championship series of Major League Baseball's (MLB) 2013 season. The 2007 American League Championship Series (ALCS), the second round of the 2007 American League playoffs, began on October 12 and ended on October 21. The 2002 American League Championship Series (ALCS) was a matchup between the Wild Card Anaheim Angels and the Central Division Champion Minnesota Twins.
