Dana Bunescu
Dana Bunescu (born 11 September 1969) is a Romanian film editor and sound editor. She is known for editing Cristian Mungiu's films ''4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days'' (2007) and ''Tales from the Golden Age'' (2009), which screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Born in Craiova, she attended the University of Bucharest and studied physics, graduating in 1993. For ''4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days'', Bunescu was nominated for the Gopo Award for Best Editing. Craiova
Craiova (, also , ), is Romania's 6th Cities in Romania, largest city and capital of Dolj County, and situated near the east bank of the river Jiu River, Jiu in central Oltenia. The Berlin International Film Festival (german: Internationale Filmfestspiele Berlin), usually called the Berlinale (), is a major international film festival held annually in Berlin, Germany. Film editing is both a creative and a technical part of the post-production process of filmmaking. The term is derived from the traditional process of working with film which increasingly involves the use of digital technology. Cristian Mungiu (; born 27 April 1968) is a Romanian filmmaker. He won the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival for his film '' 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days'', which he wrote and directed. He has also won the awards for Best Screenplay and Best Director, at the 2012 and 2016 Cannes Film Festivals, for his films ''Beyond the Hills'' and ''Graduation''. ''4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days'' ( ro, 4 luni, 3 săptămâni și 2 zile) is a 2007 Romanian art film written and directed by Cristian Mungiu and starring Anamaria Marinca, Laura Vasiliu, and Vlad Ivanov. The film is set in Socialist Republic of Romania, Communist Romania in the final years of the Nicolae Ceaușescu era. It tells the story of two students, roommates in a university dormitory, who try to procure an Abortion law, illegal abortion. Inspired by an anecdote from the period and the general social historic context, it depicts the loyalty of the two friends and the struggles they face. ''Tales from the Golden Age'' ( ro, Amintiri din epoca de aur) is a 2009 Romanian omnibus film. It was screened as part of the Un Certain Regard section at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. The film is composed of six whimsical yet blackly comic short stories, each one set in the late communist period in Romania and based on urban myths from the time, reflecting the perspective of ordinary people. The Gopo Awards ( ro, Premiile Gopo) are the national Romanian film awards, similar to the Academy Awards (US), the Goya Awards (Spain), or the César Award (France). They are presented by the Association for Romanian Film Promotion and were inaugurated in 2007. Călin Peter Netzer
Călin Peter Netzer (; born 1 May 1975) is a Romanian film director who won the Golden Bear at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival. Born in Petroșani to a family of Romanian and German origins, Netzer emigrated with his family to West Germany in 1983. In 1994, he returned to Romania in order to study film direction at the Academy of Theatre and Film in Bucharest. His first feature film, ''Maria'' (2003), won the Special Prize of the Jury at the Locarno International Film Festival, among other prizes at this and other film festivals.
