Dan Smith is an American illustrator and graphic artist known for his distinctive "SMIF" signature, and his work for Wizards of the Coast, FASA, White Wolf, Steve Jackson Games, Iron Crown, Hasbro, Nintendo, Namco and others. While known primarily as an illustrator, Dan Smith is also a designer of family card games, including '' Battle of the Bands'', Portable Adventures and King of Crime. Dan Smith has a variety of illustration styles ranging from kid friendly to teen edgy. His black-and-white work for ''GURPS'' became so prominent in the 1990s, he became the unofficial 'house artist'. One of his techniques was to photograph friends in poses as illustration models. Dan Smith (born October 19, 1976) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman who played primarily in the American Hockey League (AHL), he also played 22 games in the National Hockey League with the Colorado Avalanche and the Edmonton Oilers between 1998 and 2005. Playing career Smith was selected 181st overall in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, by the Colorado Avalanche. After completing his junior career with the Tri-City Americans of the WHL, Smith made his professional debut with the Hershey Bears, Colorado's AHL farm team. During his five years with the Colorado, Smith played only 15 games for Avalanche, with the bulk of his time being spent with the Bears. Daniel Ward-Smith (born 2 January 1978) is a former New Zealand-born English rugby union player who played at number eight for Bristol & London Wasps. He also covered flanker and second row, which made him a useful forward to have in the Wasps squad. Daniel Arthur Smith (born February 23, 1962) was a pitcher who is most notable for winning the 1982 College World Series Most Outstanding Player award while a junior at University of Miami. He is one of four players from University of Miami to win that award. The others are Greg Ellena, Pat Burrell and Charlton Jimerson.
