Tulcea
Tulcea (; also known by other alternative names) is a city in Northern Dobruja, Romania. It is the administrative center of Tulcea County, and had a population of 73,707 . One village, Tudor Vladimirescu, is administered by the city. Names The city is known in Bulgarian, Russian and Ukrainian as Тулча, romanized: ''Tulcha''; in Greek as Αιγισσός, romanized: ''Aegyssus''; in Hungarian as ''Tulcsa''; and in Turkish as ''Tulça''. History Tulcea was founded in the 7th century B.C. under the name of ''Aegyssus'', mentioned in the documents of Procopius and Diodorus of Sicily (3rd century BC). In his ''Ex Ponto'', Ovid recorded a local tradition that ascribed its name to a mythical founder, ''Aegisos the Caspian''. After the fighting from 1215 AD the Romans conquered the town. The 2016–17 Liga II was the 77th season of the Liga II, the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The season began on 6 August 2016. A total of 20 teams contested the league. It was the first Liga II season with a single series. The season was played in a round-robin tournament. The 2012–13 Liga I was the ninety-fifth season of Liga I, the top-level football league of Romania. The season began on 21 July 2012 and ended on 30 May 2013. CFR Cluj were the defending champions. Since Romania dropped from 14th to 22nd place in the UEFA association coefficient rankings at the end of the 2011–12 season, the league has lost its second UEFA Champions League berth. Further, all teams who will qualify for a European competition via league placement at the end of this season will have to enter these a round earlier as in the season before. 2011–12 Liga II
The 2011–12 Liga II was the 72nd season of the Liga II, the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The league structure had two series of 16 teams each. The first two teams in each series were promoted and the last three in each series were relegated. The season began on August 20. Teams Three of the five relegated teams from the previous Liga I season, Timișoara, Gloria Bistrița and Unirea Urziceni, did not apply for a Liga II license. The latter club was dissolved, while the first two appealed the relegation decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport and did not to apply for Liga II licenses. Previously they were denied Liga I licenses for the 2011–12 season and were relegated, despite finishing on non-relegating spots. Their cases were dismissed by the CAS on July 18.
