Dan McPhail
Daniel McPhail (9 February 1903 – October 1987) was a Scottish professional association football, footballer who made 437 appearances in the Football League playing for Portsmouth F.C., Portsmouth and Lincoln City F.C., Lincoln City. He played as a goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper. Before moving to England he played for Falkirk F.C., Falkirk and Third Lanark A.C., Third Lanark in Scotland. Life and career McPhail was born in Campbeltown, Argyll. He played football for his grammar school team before joining Falkirk F.C., Falkirk and appearing as a triallist for Third Lanark A.C., Third Lanark. He moved to England in January 1922 to sign for Portsmouth F.C., Portsmouth, then competing in the Football League Third Division South, Third Division South. Campbeltown
Campbeltown (; gd, Ceann Loch Chille Chiarain or ) is a town and former royal burgh in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It lies by Campbeltown Loch on the Kintyre peninsula. Alan Marriott (footballer)
Alan Marriott (born 3 September 1978) is an English former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. In a career that lasted from 1997 until 2014. Marriott came through the ranks at Tottenham Hotspur he went on to notably spend 9 years with Lincoln City where he was involved in two play-off final defeats at the Millennium Stadium whilst playing under Keith Alexander. Marriott amassed 358 League appearances for the Imps and later had a spell with Rushden & Diamonds before a five year stint at Mansfield Town in which he was the clubs player of the season during the 2009–10 season and the Conference National title in 2012. Alfred Young (27 November 1900 – 31 July 1975) was an English professional association football player of the 1920s. Born in Wingate, County Durham, he played for local clubs Trimdon Grange and Wingate Albion before joining Hartlepools United in 1923. Tom Nolan (English Footballer)
Thomas Gerard Nolan (13 June 1909 – 1969) was an English footballer, noted for his powerful cannonball shots. He was Port Vale's most prolific forward of the 1930s. Career Nolan played for Preston North End and Manchester Central, before joining Port Vale in October 1931. He hit 11 goals in 21 games to become the club's top-scorer, helping the "Valiants" to remain in the Second Division on goal average. Nolan then scored eight goals in 17 appearances in 1932–33, including a hat-trick in a 4–1 win over Plymouth Argyle at The Old Recreation Ground on 29 April. In the 1933–34 season he scored 22 goals in 32 appearances, including hat-tricks in home wins over Bury, Hull City, and Nottingham Forest. Tom Maidment
Thomas Maidment (4 November 1905 – 14 January 1971) was an English professional footballer who scored 51 goals from 173 appearances in the Football League playing for Lincoln City, Portsmouth and Cardiff City. Life and career Maidment was born in Monkwearmouth, County Durham (now part of Sunderland). He played football for the Durham County Schools XI before beginning his professional career with Sunderland A.F.C., but never made the breakthrough to the club's first team. In January 1926 he signed for Lincoln City, then playing in the Football League Third Division North. Although he went on to score 47 goals from 130 appearances in senior competition for the club, a 1932 book suggested he failed to take full advantage of his strengths and abilities.
