Dan Campbell (singer)
Daniel Jason "Soupy" Campbell (born January 17, 1986) is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and record producer from Lansdale, Pennsylvania. He is best known as the lead vocalist and songwriter for American pop punk band The Wonder Years, as well as the creator of folk punk project Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties. History The Wonder Years (2005–present) Campbell was originally part of a band called The Premier, which he "thought had a lot of potential," but "kind of couldn't get a foothold on anything," and the members chose to break up and attend college. The Wonder Years were supposed to be "just a fun thing to do on the side when we were bored." The band signed to No Sleep Records in 2007 and released their first full-length studio album, '' Get Stoked on It!'', later that year. Campbell has largely disavowed the album, calling it an "unmitigated disaster." Sophomore effort ''The Upsides'' (2010), was released to critical acclaim, and propelled the band to ...

Writer's Block
Writer's block is a condition, primarily associated with writing, in which an author is either unable to produce new work or experiences a creative slowdown. Mike Rose found that this creative stall is not a result of commitment problems or the lack of writing skills. The condition ranges from difficulty in coming up with original ideas to being unable to produce a work for years. Writer's block is not solely measured by time passing without writing. It is measured by time passing without productivity in the task at hand. History Throughout history, writer's block has been a documented problem.Clark, Irene. "Invention." ''Concepts in Composition: Theory and Practice in the Teaching of Writing''. 2nd ed. New York: Routledge, 2012. Professionals who have struggled with the affliction include authors such as F. Routine Maintenance (album)
''Routine Maintenance'' is the second full-length studio album by American folk rock project Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties. Released on May 10, 2019 via Hopeless Records, the album follows the concept begun with ''We Don't Have Each Other'' (2014). Background In March 2019, Dan Campbell announced two Aaron West tours, as well as a new album. The announcement was accompanied by a brief teaser video, using home movie footage and instrumental music. Later that month, the project released a music video for the album's first single, "Runnin' Toward the Light." Two more singles, "Just Sign the Papers" and "Bury Me Anywhere Else," were released in advance of the full album's debut on May 10, 2019. In an interview with ''Rock Sound,'' Campbell said, "There is a redemption arc built into this album. I really wanted to focus on Aaron growing as a person and understanding how to better cope with tragedy instead of just shutting down and being self-destructive and self-absorbed and ...

Orchard Park (song)
"Orchard Park" is the first non-album single from American folk rock project Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties, released on October 5, 2017, through Loneliest Place on Earth. Background On October 3, 2017, the Aaron West Twitter announced that a new song was imminent. On October 5, 2017, "Orchard Park" was made available for purchase as a Flexi single, with 450 copies being sold online and 550 being sold on tour. The online copies sold out the same day, and the song was made available to stream on October 6, 2017. Along with the tracks from ''Bittersweet'', the song was originally written for a second LP, but was released on its own because Dan Campbell was too busy to make an entire Aaron West album. Because the song depicts Aaron and his mother spreading his father's ashes in Orchard Park, some have thought the song takes place before ''We Don't Have Each Other'', but Campbell has stated that the song takes place in late May or early June 2014, after the events of ''Bitters ...

Warped Tour
The Warped Tour was a traveling rock tour that toured the United States plus three or four stops in Canada annually each summer from 1995 until 2019. It was the largest traveling music festival in the United States and the longest-running touring music festival to date in North America. Following the first Warped Tour, the skateboard shoe manufacturer Vans became the tour’s main sponsor, when it then became known as the Vans Warped Tour. Vans toured Australia in 1998-2002 and again in 2013. Although Vans continued as main sponsor and lent its name to the festival, other sponsors also participated, with stages or other aspects of the festival being named after them on occasion. Warped Tour was conceived by Kevin Lyman as an electric alternative rock festival, but later began focusing on punk rock music. Although it was primarily a punk rock festival, it covered diverse genres over the years. Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman said that the 2018 Vans Warped Tour would be the f ...

The Weakerthans
The Weakerthans are an award-winning and Juno-nominated Canadian indie rock band from Winnipeg. The band, led by John K. Samson, has released four studio albums and is currently inactive. History The band was formed in 1997 in Winnipeg, Manitoba by John K. Samson, after he left the punk band Propagandhi to start a publishing company. Samson joined bassist John P. Sutton and drummer Jason Tait of Red Fisher, another band from Winnipeg's punk scene, and created The Weakerthans as a vehicle for a more melodic and introspective brand of songwriting than their previous projects. The origin of the band's name was explained, in 2004 by Samson, as having come from "a few places." The first was a line from the 1992 film '' The Lover'': "Go ahead, I'm weaker than you can possibly imagine." A second (he gave only two) was a line from Ralph Chaplin's union anthem " Solidarity Forever": "What force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?" The band includes this line in the song ...

All Hail West Texas
''All Hail West Texas'' is the sixth studio album by the Mountain Goats. After the slight increase in production values on ''The Coroner's Gambit'' album of 2000, ''All Hail West Texas'' was the last Mountain Goats album recorded entirely on John Darnielle's trademark Panasonic RX-FT500 boombox until 2020's ''Songs for Pierre Chuvin''. Similarly, it marked the end of an era for the band, as it was the last album by the Mountain Goats to feature only John Darnielle until 2020. The cover states that the album consists of "fourteen songs about seven people, two houses, a motorcycle, and a locked treatment facility for adolescent boys." Several songs were written to appear on the record that were not included in its final version. Three were given away on the Tiny Mix Tapes website ("Song for God", "Warm Lonely Planet", and "Waco"). Darnielle said there was a full set of fifteen outtakes that he intended to release for free one day, but he destroyed them after hearing about the leak ...

The Mountain Goats
The Mountain Goats are an American band formed in Claremont, California, by singer-songwriter John Darnielle. The band is currently based in Durham, North Carolina. For many years, the sole member of the Mountain Goats was Darnielle, despite the plural moniker. Although he remains the core member of the band, he has worked with a variety of collaborators over time, including bassist and vocalist Peter Hughes, drummer Jon Wurster, multi-instrumentalist Matt Douglas, singer-songwriter Franklin Bruno, bassist and vocalist Rachel Ware, singer-songwriter/ producer John Vanderslice, guitarist Kaki King, and multi-instrumentalist Annie Clark. Throughout the 1990s, the Mountain Goats were known for producing low-fidelity home recordings (most notably, on a cassette deck boombox) and releasing recordings in cassette or vinyl 7-inch formats. Since 2002, the Mountain Goats have adopted a more polished approach, often recording studio albums with a full band. History Early years ...

The Hum Goes On Forever (album)
''The Hum Goes on Forever'' is the seventh studio album by American rock band the Wonder Years. It was released on September 23, 2022, by the Loneliest Place on Earth and Hopeless Records. Style and composition The band originally planned to begin writing their next album after the conclusion of their 2020 tour, but the COVID-19 pandemic meant that they did not see each other for several months. They struggled to write virtually, and the record was not created until the band quarantined in a Pennsylvania farmhouse for a week. Many songs on ''The Hum Goes On Forever'' reference previous tracks from the Wonder Years' discography: the protagonist of "Oldest Daughter" is named after the titular character in "Madelyn" from '' The Greatest Generation'', while "Cardinals II" is a sequel to the track on ''No Closer to Heaven''. Recording and production Steve Evetts, who frequently collaborated with the Wonder Years, produced most of the album, while Will Yip also produced certain tr ...
