Dan Allen (American Football)
Daniel L. Allen (December 7, 1955 – May 16, 2004) was an American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Boston University from 1990 to 1995 and at the College of the Holy Cross from 1996 to 2003. Allen began his coaching career at the University of Dayton as a graduate assistant, where he earned a master's degree in 1979. He then served as an assistant coach at Holy Cross from 1982 to 1989 before moving on to his first head coaching job at Boston University. After a six-year stint for the Terriers, Allen finished his coaching career back at Holy Cross, where he led the Crusaders for eight seasons before being fired following a 1–11 campaign. Boston University's 1993 Cinderella season Allen's most successful season as a coach came in 1993 with Boston University. Dan Allen (gambler)
Dan Allen (April 12, 1832 – April 26, 1884) was a pioneer American gambler in Omaha, Nebraska. He had great influence throughout the young city and was the long-time companion of Anna Wilson, the city's foremost madam for almost 40 years.Bristow, D.L. (2001) ''A Dirty, Wicked Town: Tales of 19th Century Omaha.'' Caxton Press. p 210. Allen was influential throughout early Omaha. About Allen was born in Jefferson County, New York, the son of Lyman Allen and Anna Duel, and lived in Peoria, Illinois for some time before coming to Omaha. He arrived in Omaha in 1866, and opened a gambling house in Downtown Omaha in 1878. It is believed that Dan met Anna Wilson in New Orleans, eventually persuading her to come to Omaha with him. Omaha was known as a "wide-open" city for its first 50 years, with explicit prostitution in the Burnt District and gambling in the Sporting District, both located in Downtown Omaha. Danny Liam Allen-Page (born 30 October 1983) is an English former professional footballer who played as a right-back or midfielder. Allen-Page started his career as a trainee with Brentford, making one first team appearance, before being released in 2004. He joined Farnborough Town and after two full seasons with them he left to join Yeading. They merged with Hayes in 2007 to form Hayes & Yeading United, with whom he won promotion to the Conference Premier in 2009. He was released a year later and joined Hampton & Richmond Borough, before having a spell with Merstham in 2012.
