Thomas Wisse (November 12, 1949 – August 11, 1995), known professionally as Damon Edge, was an American musician. He was a founding member of the post-punk band Chrome and also recorded as a solo artist. Biography Damon Edge was born in Los Angeles in 1949. Redondo Beach (Spanish for ''round'') is a coastal city in Los Angeles County, California, United States, located in the South Bay region of the Greater Los Angeles area. Chrome (band)
Chrome is an American rock band founded in San Francisco in 1976 by musician Damon Edge and associated with the 1970s post-punk movement. The group's raw sound blended elements of punk, psychedelia, and early industrial music, incorporating science-fiction themes, tape experimentation, distorted acid rock guitar, and electronic noise. They have been cited as forerunners of the 1980s industrial music boom. They found little commercial success as part of San Francisco's 1970s music scene, but developed a cult following in the United Kingdom and Germany following the release of the LPs '' Alien Soundtracks'' (1977) and ''Half Machine Lip Moves'' (1979). Post-punk
Post-punk (originally called new musick) is a broad genre of punk music that emerged in the late 1970s as musicians departed from punk's traditional elements and raw simplicity, instead adopting a variety of avant-garde sensibilities and non-rock influences. Inspired by punk's energy and DIY ethic but determined to break from rock cliches, artists experimented with styles like funk, electronic music, jazz, and dance music; the production techniques of dub and disco; and ideas from art and politics, including critical theory, modernist art, cinema and literature. Fabienne Shine is a French and Jewish model, actress and musician, born in Tunisia, North Africa in 1944 and raised in Paris. She started writing songs and composing her own music at an early age. She went travelled the world with her guitar and met the band Led Zeppelin, who liked her songs. Jimmy Page got involved romantically with her. Robert Plant and Page often jammed with her and finally suggested that she should create a band. After touring the U.S. with Led Zeppelin, she went back to Europe and met a young guitarist, Eric Levi, at a concert in Paris. They decided to start a band in 1975, Shakin' Street (first named Speedball). They were exposed to the press and signed a contract with CBS France and Columbia Records USA.
