Damien Roberts
Damien Roberts (born 26 January 1978) is a South African former professional tennis player. Biography Roberts went to Kearsney College until 1994, when he moved to the United States to train at the John Newcombe Tennis Academy in Texas. He attended New Braunfels High School. As a junior, he was ranked as high as 11 in the world in doubles and was a finalist in the 1996 Wimbledon Championships with countryman Wesley Whitehouse. From 1996 to 2001, Roberts competed professionally on the international tennis circuit, mostly in ATP Challenger tournaments. He won a total of five Challenger titles during his career, all in doubles. Most notably he competed in the main draw of the 1999 Wimbledon Championships. He was eliminated in the opening round of qualifying in the singles and only narrowly missed qualification in the men's doubles, he and partner Amir Hadad lost the final qualifier in five sets. Amir Hadad
Amir Hadad (Hebrew: אמיר חדד, born 17 February 1978) is a retired Israeli professional tennis player. His highest singles ATP ranking was World No. 180, achieved in April 2003, and his highest doubles ranking was No. 87, achieved in May 2003. Tennis career Hadad turned pro in 1995. Most of his success has been on the challenger and future circuits. In May 2002, in the first round of the French Open, he upset world No. 78 Christophe Rochus of Belgium, 6–1, 6–2, 6–7 (4,) 6–2. Hadad has trained at the Israel Tennis Centers. In mid-July 2002, Amir and his partner Martín Vassallo Argüello won the Seascape Challenger Tournament doubles final. Gramado
Gramado is a small tourist city, southeast of Caxias do Sul and east of Nova Petrópolis in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, in the Serra Gaúcha region. The city was originally settled by Azorean descendants and later received a contingent of German and Italian immigrants. Laura Robson (tennis)
Laura Robson (born 21 January 1994) is a British former professional tennis player. She debuted on the ITF Junior Circuit in 2007, and a year later won the Junior Wimbledon championships at the age of 14. As a junior, she also twice reached the final of the girls' singles tournament at the Australian Open, in 2009 and 2010. She won her first tournament on the ITF Women's Circuit in November 2008. Great Britain Fed Cup Team
The Great Britain Billie Jean King Cup team represents the United Kingdom in Fed Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Lawn Tennis Association. In 2020, they lost out on a chance to secure a place at the inaugural Billie Jean King Cup finals, losing to Slovakia 3-1. Lorenzo Manta (born 16 September 1974 in Winterthur) is a former tennis player from Switzerland, who turned professional in 1992. The right-hander reached his highest ATP singles ranking of World No. 103 in June 2000. His best achievement in the grand slam tournaments was reaching the fourth round at Wimbledon in 1999. Julian Knowle (born 29 April 1974) is an Austrian former male professional tennis player. Being a born left-hander, Knowle was one of the few on the ATP Tour who played his forehand, backhand, and even volleys double-handed. He was Austria's most successful doubles player in history by reaching world no. 6 in the ATP doubles rankings in January 2008, before being matched by Jürgen Melzer, who reached no. 6 in September 2010, and overtaken by Alexander Peya, who reached no. 3 in August 2013. Marcus Hilpert (born 1 July 1971) is a former professional tennis player from Germany. Early years Hilpert was born in India, to a Khasi Indian mother and German father. His father worked as a diplomat, so Hilpert also lived in Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Sudan during his childhood. Despite his mother being an Indian national, Hilpert wasn't eligible to represent the country of his birth in Davis Cup tennis as he only held a German passport.
