Damien Howson
Damien Howson (born 13 August 1992) is an Australian cyclist, who rides for UCI WorldTeam . For the 2023 season he will ride for new team . Career Howson started his athletic career in basketball, becoming a state champion at age of 13. He moved to cycling when South Australian Sports Institute discovered his potential after physiological testing on the state junior basketball team. He won the UCI Road World Championships – Men's under-23 time trial, world under-23 time trial in 2013, as well as the Oceania Cycling Championships under-23 time trial and road race. He was named in the start list for the 2015 Vuelta a España and the 2016 Giro d'Italia. In 2017 he won the 64th edition of the Herald Sun Tour. In June 2017, he was named to make his debut at the 2017 Tour de France. Tour de l'Avenir ( en, Tour of the Future) is a French road bicycle racing stage race, which started in 1961 as a race similar to the Tour de France and over much of the same course but for amateurs and for semi-professionals known as independents. 2014 UCI Road World Championships
The 2014 UCI Road World Championships took place in Ponferrada, Spain, from 21 to 28 September 2014. The cycling championships consisted of 12 events for elite, under-23 and junior cyclists. It was the 81st UCI Road World Championships and the seventh time that Spain had hosted the championships; they were previously held in Lasarte in 1965, Montjuïc in 1973, Barcelona in 1984, Benidorm in 1992, San Sebastián in 1997 and Madrid in 2005. Bidding process The UCI announced on 4 April 2011 that the city of Ponferrada had the best candidature file to host the Championships. The candidature file of Ponferrada had the best score on the important sporting and economic elements. History In 1995 Australian Bill Mitchell, a keen cyclist and professor of economics at the University of Newcastle, created the website titled "Bill’s Cycling Racing Results and News" after finding there was a need for fast-breaking news and race results in English-speaking countries. The 2017 Tour de France was the 104th edition of the Tour de France, one of cycling's Grand Tour (cycling), Grand Tours. The 2016 Giro d'Italia was the 99th edition of the Giro d'Italia, one of cycling's Grand Tour races. 2015 Vuelta A España
The 2015 Vuelta a España was a three-week Grand Tour cycling race. The race was the 70th edition of the Vuelta a España and took place principally in Spain, although two stages took place partly or wholly in Andorra, and was the 22nd race in the 2015 UCI World Tour. The race included 21 stages, beginning in Marbella on 22 August 2015 and finishing in Madrid on 13 September.
