The play was originally performed in Hawaii in by Terence Knapp and has had numerous professional and amateur productions since that time. The play is set in 1936 when Damien's body is being transported from Molokai to his native Belgium. Damien's story is retold through a series of flashbacks. ''Damien'' featuring Terence Knapp was broadcast nationally on PBS in the United States in 1978 and again in 1986 on ''American Playhouse''. The broadcast received a number of recognitions including a Peabody Award. "Damien" is the tenth episode of the first season of the American animated television series '' South Park''. It originally aired on Comedy Central in the United States on February 4, 1998. In the episode, the boys' class is joined by a new student named Damien, who has been sent by his father Satan to find Jesus and arrange a boxing match between the two. The majority of South Park's residents bet on Satan to win the match due to his enormous size and muscular physique, but Satan ultimately throws the fight and reveals he bet on Jesus, thus winning everybody's money. The episode was written by series co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, with additional dialogue by Dave Polsky, and directed by Parker. The Omen

Damien High School is an all-boys Roman Catholic high school in La Verne, in the U.S. state of California named for Saint Damien of Molokai. The school had its first graduating class in 1963. Each of Damien's freshmen classes draws from an average of over 75 different elementary and junior high schools for youths from Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties.
