Damania or Damaniya is a family name given to the original inhabitants of Daman, a specific Gujarati community within the Indian subcontinent. Origin The name "Damania" is derived from the small village called "Daman" (Union territory), which is in the Union Territory of Daman and Diu within India. The original people from Daman were given the last name "Damania". Occurrence The surname is largely seen in three communities: the Parsis; the Shia Muslims, including Ismaili Muslims and the Bohra and Bohri Muslims; and the Gujarati Hindus. Daman And Diu
Daman and Diu (; ) was a former union territory in northwestern India. With an area of , it was the smallest administrative subdivision of India on the mainland. The territory comprised two districts, Damaon and Dio island, geographically separated by the Gulf of Khambat. The state of Gujarat and the Arabian Sea bordered the territory. A Portuguese colony since the 1500s, the territories were taken by India with the Annexation of Goa in 1961. Daman and Diu were administered as part of the union territory of Goa, Daman and Diu between 1961 and 1987, after the Goa Opinion Poll they became a separate union territory. Aga Khan II
Aga Khan II ( fa, آقا خان دوّم; ''Āghā Khān-i Duvvum'' or, less commonly but more correctly ''Āqā Khān-i Duvvum''), or Aqa Ali Shah ( ''Āqā ‘Alī Shāh''; born 1830 in Mahallat, Iran; died August 1885 in Poona, India), the 47th Imam of the Nizari Ismaili Muslims. The DRDO Rustom (English: ''Warrior'') is a Medium Altitude Long Endurance unmanned air vehicle (UAV) being developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation for the three services, Indian Army, Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force of the Indian Armed Forces. Rustom is derived from the NAL's LCRA (Light Canard Research Aircraft) developed by a team under the leadership of late Prof Rustom Damania in the 1980s. Damania Airways was an Indian airline headquartered in Mumbai, that operated from 1993 to 1997. It was founded by the brothers, Parvez and Vispi Damania. Parvez later played a vital role in Sahara India Pariwar in their venture Air Sahara and then went on to become the Executive Director of Kingfisher Airlines. Vispi later became the VP Finance of Kingfisher Airlines. History Damania Airways was founded in 1992 and began flying on 10 March 1993 with two Boeing 737 aircraft leased from TAP Air of Portugal. Vishvakarma
Vishvakarma or Vishvakarman ( sa, विश्वकर्मा, Viśvakarmā, all maker) is a craftsman deity and the divine architect of the devas in contemporary Hinduism. In the early texts, the craftsman deity was known as Tvastar and the word "Vishvakarma" was originally used as an epithet for any powerful deity. However, in many later traditions, Vishvakarma became the name of the craftsman god. Vishvakarma crafted all of the chariots of the devas and weapons including the ''Vajra'' of the god Indra. Vishvakarma was related to the sun god Surya through his daughter Samjna. According to the legend, when Samjna left her house due to Surya's energy, Vishvakarma reduced the energy and created various other weapons using it. A zamindar ( Hindustani: Devanagari: , ; Persian: , ) in the Indian subcontinent was an autonomous or semiautonomous ruler of a province. The term itself came into use during the reign of Mughals and later the British had begun using it as a native synonym for “estate”. The term means ''land owner'' in Persian. Typically hereditary, from whom they reserved the right to collect tax on behalf of imperial courts or for military purposes. Daman District, India
Daman is one of the three districts of the Indian union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu on the western coast of India, surrounded by Valsad district of Gujarat state on the north, east and south and the Arabian Sea to the west.
