''Damaging Consent'' was the second full album from The Micronauts, released in 2007. It is the first major work released by the group since George Issakidis left the group, leaving Christophe Monier as its sole member. It was released as a two-disc edition with the second disc featuring ten remixes as a retrospective. The Micronauts
The Micronauts are a Paris-based dance music act. They formed when Christophe Monier met Canada-born George Issakidis whilst working at the Parisian music fanzine eDEN. The first release was a 12 inch called "The Jazz." They continued to work throughout the 1990s, developing an acid techno style of their own. This attracted the attention of high-profile artists, such as The Chemical Brothers and Underworld. Indeed, their remix of ''Block Rockin' Beats'' appears on The Chemical Brothers' DJ mix album '' Brothers Gonna Work It Out'' and their remix of Underworld's ''Bruce Lee'' was also widely distributed. At the end of the decade they were signed to the Astralwerks label and soon after released ''The Jag''. One year later, in 2000, they released their debut EP, '' Bleep to Bleep''. Electronica is both a broad group of electronic-based music styles intended for listening rather than strictly for dancing and a music scene that started in the early 1990s in the United Kingdom. Acid techno, sometimes known generally as "acid", is a genre of techno that was derived from acid house and developed in Europe in the late 1980s to early 1990s. The Chemical Brothers are an English electronic music duo formed by Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons in Manchester in 1989. Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) are an English electronic music, electronic band formed in Wirral Peninsula, Wirral, Merseyside, in 1978.
