Daly River Road
The Daly River Road is a designated state route in the Northern Territory of Australia providing access to the settlements of Daly River (Nauiyu), Peppimenarti and Wadeye (Port Keats). The road was upgraded and sealed between Dorat Road and Daly River (approximately ), skirting the southern boundary of Litchfield National Park in late 2007 to allow better access for an increasing volume of tourist traffic heading into the region, known for good fishing during the dry season. The remaining distance between the Daly River crossing and Wadeye remains unsealed and suitable for four-wheel drive vehicles depending on weather conditions. Dorat Road
Dorat Road is a designated state route in the Northern Territory of Australia providing an alternative route to the Stuart Highway from Adelaide River and rejoining north of Hayes Creek, a distance of . The road provides access to tourist attractions including Robin Falls and Douglas-Daly Hot Springs, several World War II heritage locations, and forms part of the road access to Daly River and Wadeye via the Daly River Road which branches from Dorat Road approximately south of Adelaide River. Dorat Road was originally constructed during World War II as part of the original Stuart Highway alignment, which was later bypassed owing to steep climbs and tight curves along the route. Robin Falls, Northern Territory
__NOTOC__ Robin Falls is a locality in the Northern Territory of Australia located on the Cox Peninsula and adjoining land about south of the territory capital of Darwin. The locality was named after Robin Falls, a waterfall located within its boundaries and which is reported as being named by Clyde Fenton, a North Territory medical practitioner and pilot, after Robin Cook, the “daughter of Dr M Cook, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Protector of Aboriginals from 1927 to 1939”. Its boundaries and name were gazetted on 4 April 2007. Robin Falls includes the site of a former World War II era chemical warfare facility which was listed on the Northern Territory Heritage Register on 2 March 2011 under the name of the WWII 88 Mile Burrell Creek Chemical Warfare Depot and Camp. Peppimenarti, Northern Territory
Peppimenarti is an Aboriginal Australian community in the Daly River region of the Northern Territory, Australia. Peppimenarti (or "Peppi", as it is known) is situated on Tom Turner Creek approximately south-west of Darwin. The population in the 2016 Census was 178. Emu Point, an outstation, is approximately from Peppimenarti. Etymology The locality name is drawn from the Aboriginal words ''peppi'' (rock) and ''menarti'' (large), referring to the rock formation that overlooks the community. At its base is a wide stream and a series of pools which form a significant sacred site. History In the early 1970s, the independent Aboriginal organisation Unia campaigned for the establishment of a cattle station within the Daly River Aboriginal Reserve as a permanent home for the local Ngangikurrunggurr people. Wadeye ( ) is a town in Australia's Northern Territory. It was formerly known (and is still often referred to) as Port Keats. At the , Wadeye had a population of 2,280. Wadeye is the 6th most populous town, and the largest Indigenous community in the Northern Territory.
