Dalton, Nebraska
Dalton is a village in Cheyenne County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 315 at the 2010 census. History Early History Dalton was founded ''circa'' 1900 when the Nebraska, Wyoming and Western Railroad was extended to that point. The railroad was certified in 1899 and railroad crews began surveying potential routes in Cheyenne County.Schreinert, F. (1988). ''Nebraska our towns: The Panhandle'' (J. Graff, Ed.). Second Century Publications. In January 1900, the railroad purchased 150 acres of land from the Union Pacific Railroad, which had received the land in a land grant in 1867. The newly purchased land became a transportation hub for the Nebraska, Wyoming and Western Railroad, and the small town of Dalton that developed on the land became one of the work stations for the railroad. Dalton High School (Ohio)
Dalton High School is a public high school in Dalton, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Dalton Local Schools district. Their nickname is the Bulldogs. The principal of the school is Mr. Steve Watkins. Athletics Dalton's football team has a long rivalry with both the Chippewa Chipps and the Rittman Indians, both of which run back to their first meetings in 1925 and 1924 respectively. This dates back to when the Wayne County B League only had four teams from Apple Creek, Doylestown (Chippewa), Rittman, and Dalton. Had Dalton fielded a team for three years in the 1940s and if Rittman had remained in the league through the 40s and 50s, both rivalries would most likely be more contiguous than the Orrville- Wooster rivalry. The Chippewa rivalry is the second-most played rivalry in Wayne County after Chippewa/Rittman. The Dalton School, originally the Children's University School, is a private, coeducational college preparatory school in New York City and a member of both the Ivy Preparatory School League and the New York Interschool. The school is located in four buildings within the Upper East Side of Manhattan. In November 2021, it was announced that José Manuel De Jesús would replace Interim Head of School Ellen Stein as Head in July 2022. Former Head of School Jim Best resigned in April 2021 after 16 years at the school.
