Dalsbygda is a village in Os Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village is located about northwest of the village of Os i Østerdalen in the northwestern part of the municipality. There are about 600 people who live in the village. The area is characterized by agriculture, particularly with dairy production. Dalsbygda Church
Dalsbygda Church ( no, Dalsbygda kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Os Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the village of Dalsbygda. It is the church for the Dalsbygda parish which is part of the Nord-Østerdal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Hamar. The red, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1960 using plans drawn up by the architect Jens Ormhaug. The church seats about 250 people. History In 1908, the cemetery at the nearby Os Church needed more room, but had no room to expand. A site in the village of Dalsbygda was chosen. The cemetery was fenced, a chapel erected, and a bell installed at the new site and it was all consecrated on 17 October 1910. In 1951, the prestegjeld of Tolga hired a full time priest to work in Os. The new priest began to hold services in Dalsbygda at the small chapel and discussions ensued about whether or not to build a church there. Therese Johaug
Therese Johaug (born 25 June 1988) is a Norwegian cross-country skier from the village of Dalsbygda in Os municipality who has competed for the clubs Tynset IF and IL Nansen. In World Ski Championships she has won ten individual gold medals along with four gold medals in relays and she is a four-time Olympic gold medallist. In October 2016, Johaug tested positive for the performance-enhancing drug clostebol. She blamed the Norwegian team medic Fredrik S. Bendiksen but was nonetheless suspended for a period of 18 months. She returned to the World Cup in 2019 and has continued to dominate women's distance competitions in the following seasons. On 4 March 2022, Therese Johaug announced her retirement from elite cross-country skiing following the 2021–2022 season. Annar Ryen (19 October 1909, Os, Hedmark – 9 March 1985) was a Norwegian cross-country skier who competed in the 1930s. He won a gold medal in the 4 × 10 km relay at the 1937 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. Because of his successes, Ryen was awarded the Holmenkollen medal in 1940 (shared with Oscar Gjøslien). This was the last medal before World War II. He represented the clubs Tynset IF and IL Nansen.
