Dallara SF14
The Dallara SF14 is a Open-wheel car, single-seater open-wheel chassis made by Italian manufacturer Dallara for the Super Formula series in Japan. It was introduced for the 2014 Super Formula season, 2014 season and used until the 2018 Super Formula Championship, 2018 season. For the 2019 Super Formula Championship, 2019 season, the chassis was replaced by the Dallara SF19. It was the sole chassis used in Super Formula during these seasons, though engine competition between Honda in motorsport, Honda and Toyota in motorsport, Toyota resulted in performance differences between the Honda and Toyota powered versions. Octane Rating
An octane rating, or octane number, is a standard measure of a fuel's ability to withstand compression in an internal combustion engine without detonating. The higher the octane number, the more compression the fuel can withstand before detonating. Octane rating does not relate directly to the power output or the energy content of the fuel per unit mass or volume, but simply indicates gasoline's capability against compression. Whether or not a higher octane fuel improves or impairs an engine's performance depends on the design of the engine. In broad terms, fuels with a higher octane rating are used in higher-compression gasoline engines, which may yield higher power for these engines. Dallara Racing Cars
Dallara is an Italian race car manufacturer, founded by its current President, Gian Paolo Dallara. After working for Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and De Tomaso, in 1972 in his native village of Varano de' Melegari (Parma), Italy he created "Dallara Automobili". Dallara is also the sole manufacturer of racing cars for the IndyCar Series, Indy Lights, Formula 2, Formula 3 and Super Formula Championships. The 2018 Japanese Super Formula Championship was the forty-sixth season of premier Japanese open-wheel motor racing, and the sixth under the moniker of Super Formula. 2016 Super Formula Season
The 2016 Japanese Super Formula Championship was the forty-fourth season of premier Japanese open-wheel motor racing, and the fourth under the name of Super Formula. Hiroaki Ishiura started his 2015 Championship defense when the season began on 24 April, and ended after seven rounds on 30 October. The series changed tyre supplier from Bridgestone to Yokohama.
