Dale Righter
Dale Righter (born August 23, 1966) is an American politician and former Republican member of the Illinois Senate, representing the 55th district from 2003 to 2021. The 55th district included Clay, Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Edwards, Effingham, Jasper, Lawrence, Richland, Wabash, Wayne and White counties in the southeastern corner of the state. He was previously a member of the Illinois House of Representatives from 1997 through 2003. Early life, education and career Righter was born and raised in Mattoon, Illinois. He attended Mattoon High School and in 1988 graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in accounting. In 1991, Righter earned his J.D. degree from the Saint Louis University School of Law. After law school, he took a job as a drug crimes prosecutor with the State's Attorney's Appellate Prosecutor's Office. Edgar County is a county located in the U.S. state of Illinois. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 16,866. Its county seat is Paris. History Edgar County was formed out of Clark County in 1823. It was named for John Edgar, an Irish-born officer in the Royal Navy who resigned rather than fight against the Americans in the Revolutionary War. Mattoon High School
Mattoon High School is located in Coles County, Mattoon, Illinois, United States. The school mascot is the Green Wave, which represents the waves of corn in the fields surrounding the community of Mattoon. History On September 20, 2017, at 11:33 am, a 14-year-old male student opened fire in the school cafeteria and was quickly subdued by Angela McQueen, a math and physical education teacher. One student was struck in the chest and was driven to a nearby hospital suffering non-life-threatening wounds. The State Board of Elections (SBE) is an independent agency of the U.S. state of Illinois. The SBE, as an acronym, refers both to the eight-member bipartisan board of directors and to the agency that it oversees. White County is a county located in the U.S. state of Illinois. According to the 2020 census, it had a population of 13,877. Its county seat is Carmi. It is located in the southern portion of Illinois known locally as " Little Egypt". History White County was organized from Gallatin County in 1815, and was named after Captain Isaac White, a Gallatin County legislator who is credited with the idea of extending the Illinois-Wisconsin border a few miles north of the southern tip of Lake Michigan and was also in charge of the salt works at Equality. Wabash County is a county located in the U.S. state of Illinois. According to the 2020 census, it had a population of 11,361. Its county seat is Mount Carmel.
