Dalcross Railway Station
Dalcross was a railway station located at Dalcross, to the east of Inverness, Scotland (now in the Highland Council Area). It opened in 1855 and closed in 1965. A new station in Dalcross was proposed in the early 21st century, and was projected to open in 2019, but has been set back to the 2020s. The station is currently under construction and is projected to open in 2022. Original station The Inverness and Nairn Railway was formally opened on 5 November 1855, public services beginning the following day, and Dalcross was one of the four intermediate stations originally provided. In September 1925, the distances of the station were given as from Perth (measured via ), and from Keith Junction. Dalcross station closed on 3 May 1965, and the signal box closed on 12 March 1967. Dalcross, Highland
Dalcross, in the original Gaelic, Dealgan Cros, later shortened to Dealgros, is a location in the Highland region of Scotland. It is on the Moray Firth about 10 km (6 miles) east-north-east of Inverness and contains Inverness Airport, Dalcross industrial estate, Dalcross Castle and Dalcross Forest. Dalcross railway station On 16 October 2015, the principal contractor for the forthcoming modernisation of the Inverness-Aberdeen line was announced. Included in the project is infrastructure that will allow a new station to be built at Dalcross. The original station closed in 1965.
