Dakota Showcase
The CU Mortgage Dakota Showcase was a college basketball event held in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the Sanford Pentagon. It was a non-conference showcase that featured four Summit League men's basketball teams: North Dakota, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, and South Dakota. It was formed during the 2020–21 season as a way to add games to each team's schedule which were all majorly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. No fans were allowed at the event and all of the teams followed COVID-19 Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a contagious disease caused by a virus, the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). College Basketball
In United States colleges, top-tier basketball is governed by collegiate athletic bodies including National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). Each of these various organizations is subdivided into one to three divisions, based on the number and level of scholarships that may be provided to the athletes. Paul Sather
Paul Sather (born August 28, 1971) is an American college basketball coach, currently head men's basketball coach at the University of North Dakota. Sather, from Princeton, Minnesota, played college basketball for Northern State in Aberdeen, South Dakota from 1990 to 1994. Following his college career, he entered coaching, first as an assistant coach at Sidney High School in Nebraska, then as a graduate assistant at Wayne State College under Greg McDermott, where he also obtained a master's degree in sports administration. In 1998, Sather returned to Northern State as an assistant coach, where he served for six years. For the 2004–05 season, Sather joined Ricardo Patton’s staff at Colorado. In 2005, Sather was named head coach of Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota. In his five seasons at Black Hills State, he led the Yellow Jackets to a 94–62 record. Todd Lee
Todd Walter Lee (born February 20, 1964) is an American college basketball coach who is the former head coach of the South Dakota Coyotes men's basketball team. Coaching career Assistant coach (1986–2005) After graduating from the University of South Dakota in 1986, Lee's first coaching job was as an assistant coach at Southwestern College in California where he stayed until 1989 when he joined Hank Egan's staff at San Diego from 1989 to 1992. Lee then headed to the professional ranks for two seasons as an assistant coach for the Rapid City Thrillers of the CBA under Eric Musselman. Eric Henderson (basketball)
Eric Henderson is an American basketball coach. He currently coaches the South Dakota State Jackrabbits men's basketball team. Playing career Henderson played college basketball at Wayne State College in Nebraska under Greg McDermott where he registered 876 rebounds and 160 career steals. He was inducted into the Wayne State College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008. Coaching career After graduation, Henderson joined the coaching staff of his alma mater from 2001 to 2003. He would then enter the high school ranks as the girls basketball coach at Wayne High School until 2005. He then joined the Iowa State Cyclones men's basketball, Iowa State men's basketball program as a graduate manager and learning specialist under McDermott. David Richman
David Richman (born May 1, 1978) is an American basketball coach. He is the men's basketball head coach at North Dakota State University, a position he has held since 2015. Early life and education Richman was born on May 1, 1978, and grew up in Wahpeton, North Dakota. A 2002 graduate of North Dakota State with a degree in physical education, Richman received a master's degree in sport and recreation management from NDSU in 2005.
