Daisy Jepkemei
Daisy Jepkemei (born February 13, 1996) is a Kenyan born long distance running athlete. Since January 29, 2022, she represents Kazakhstan. While representing Kenya at age 16, she was the steeplechase champion at the 2012 World Junior Championships in Athletics (for athletes under age 20) as well as the 2013 African Youth Athletics Championships. She was also second place in the 3000 metres at those same championships. Her personal best of 9:06.66, set in 2019 at the Weltklasse Zürich Weltklasse Zürich ( en, World Class Zurich) is an annual, invitation-only, world-class track and field meeting at the Letzigrund in Zürich, Switzerland, generally held at the end of August or beginning of September. Athletics is a group of sporting events that involves competitive running, jumping, throwing, and walking. The most common types of athletics competitions are track and field, road running, cross country running, and racewalking. Weltklasse Zürich ( en, World Class Zurich) is an annual, invitation-only, world-class track and field meeting at the Letzigrund in Zürich, Switzerland, generally held at the end of August or beginning of September. Previously one of the IAAF Golden League events, it now serves as a final of the Wanda Diamond League, alongside Memorial Van Damme between 2010 and 2019. In 2021, Welklasse Zürich will serve as the sole final of the Diamond League. One of the first large-scale international athletics events (outside the Summer Olympics), it is sometimes referred to as the one-day Olympics. Weltklasse Zürich first took place on 12 August 1928. IAAF World Junior Championships In Athletics
The World Athletics U20 Championships is a biennial world championships for the sport of athletics organised by the World Athletics, contested by athletes in the under-20 athletics age category (19 years old or younger on 31 December in the year of the competition. The competition was launched as the IAAF World Junior Championships in Athletics in 1986 and renamed to IAAF World U20 Championships in November 2015. The current name was adapted with the name change of the sports governing body in 2019. Anneisha McLaughlin-Whilby is the most successful athlete at the championships, having won one gold and four silver in individual and relay sprinting events between 2000 and 2004. 2013 African Youth Athletics Championships
The 2013 African Youth Athletics Championships were the first edition of the biennial athletics competition for African athletes aged fifteen to seventeen. It was held in Warri, Nigeria, on 28–31 March. A total of 40 events were originally scheduled but only 36 went ahead, 17 for boys and 19 for girls. The Warri Township Stadium in Nigeria's Delta State, underwent significant renovation for the competition. The stadium was expanded to accommodate an international standard track and field and the installation of a Timetronics EDM (Electronic Distance Measurement) system was the first of its kind in the country. Emmanuel Uduaghan, the Delta State Governor, urged further use of the stadium for national and international events, as well as underlining the importance of good facilities to assist future generations of Nigerian athletes to attain an elite standard.
