Dagmar Orlamundt
Dagmar Lydia Orlamundt, née Hansen (1863–1939) was a Danish actress from Odense who made her debut when only 14 at Odense Teater. In the 1890s, she was engaged by the Casino Theatre in Copenhagen where she was particularly successful in comic parts, playing the title role in the farce ''Charley's Aunt''. From the turn of the century, she performed in Copenhagen at Dagmar Teatret and at Folketeatret Folketeateret is a theatre in Oslo, Norway. Odense Teater is a theater in the city of Odense in Denmark. It dates back to 1796, which makes it Denmark's second oldest theater. It is one of the country's three main theaters. Casino Theatre (Copenhagen)
The Casino Theatre was a theatre located at Amaliegade 10 in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was built as an entertainment venue by Tivoli Gardens-founder Georg Carstensen but was converted into a theatre in 1848. It closed in 1937 and the building was demolished in 1960. History Origins Built by Georg Carstensen, founder of Tivoli Gardens, Casino was originally envisioned as a "Winter Tivoli" with bazaar, promenade concerts and soirées. Carstensen financed the project through the sale of shares. In November 1845, he had raised 200,000 Danish rigsdaler. The building was designed by H. C. ''Charley's Aunt'' is a farce in three acts written by Brandon Thomas. The story centres on Lord Fancourt Babberley, an undergraduate whose friends Jack and Charley persuade him to impersonate the latter's aunt. The complications of the plot include the arrival of the real aunt and the attempts of an elderly fortune hunter to woo the bogus aunt. The play concludes with three pairs of young lovers united, along with an older pair – Charley's real aunt and Jack's widowed father.
