Folco Quilici
Folco Quilici (9 April 1930 – 24 February 2018) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. He directed a total of 22 films between 1952 and his retirement in 2005, including '' Tiko and the Shark'' ( it). His 1955 film ''L'ultimo paradiso'' won the Silver Bear in the documentary category at the 7th Berlin International Film Festival. Biography Son of journalist Nello Quilici and painter Mimì Quilici Buzzacchi, he was born in the beautiful city Ferrara on 9th April 1930. His father Nello, who was a famous journalist, tragically died during the war in what has been remembered as the incident of Tobruch, a fatal plane crush above Libia. The airplane on which the journalist was traveling along with Italo Balbo, Lino Balbo, and other collaborators of the governor was shot down in the skies of Tobruk by the anti-aircraft fire from the Italian cruiser San Giorgio. Eleonora Rossi Drago, born Palmina Omiccioli, (23 September 1925 – 2 December 2007) was an Italian film actress. She was born in Quinto al Mare, Genoa, Italy, and had the leading role in '' Le amiche''. She appeared in '' The Facts of Murder.'' Fausto Tozzi (29 October 1921 – 10 December 1978) was an Italian film actor and screenwriter. He appeared in 70 films between 1951 and 1978. He wrote the script for '' The Defeated Victor'', which was entered into the 9th Berlin International Film Festival. He also directed one film, ''Trastevere''. Life and career Born in Rome, after graduating in accountancy Tozzi made several humble jobs, including peddler and bird taxidermist. He was introduced in the cinema industry by Sergio Amidei, for whom he worked as a stenographer. Through Amidei, Tozzi met Renato Castellani, with whom he collaborated as a screenwriter for '' Professor, My Son'' (1946) and '' Under the Sun of Rome'' (1948, based on a Tozzi's original story).
