Dagenham Town Football Club was a association football, football club based in Dagenham, England. History Dagenham Town were formed in 1929, after West Ham & District Thursday League club Lombardians were renamed at their 1929 AGM. Dagenham joined the London League (football), London League, also entering the FA Cup for the first time in the 1929–30 FA Cup, 1929–30 season, taking Welsh club Barry Town United F.C., Barry to a replay in the first round, losing 1–0 at West Ham United F.C., West Ham United's Boleyn Ground. Dagenham Town would enter the FA Cup on two more occasions, in 1931 and 1939. Following the outbreak of World War II, Dagenham were playing in the South Essex Combination. The club never re-appeared following the war, with former directors of the club forming Dagenham Park F.C., Dagenham British Legion in 1946. Dagenham () is a town in East London, England, within the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. Dagenham is centred east of Charing Cross. It was historically a rural parish in the Becontree Hundred of Essex, stretching from Hainault Forest in the north to the River Thames in the south. Dagenham remained mostly undeveloped until 1921, when the London County Council began construction of the large Becontree housing estate. The population significantly increased as people moved to the new housing in the early 20th century, with the parish of Dagenham becoming Dagenham Urban District in 1926 and the Municipal Borough of Dagenham in 1938. In 1965 Dagenham became part of Greater London when most of the historic parish become part of the London Borough of Barking. Dagenham was chosen as a location for industrial activity and is perhaps most famous for being the location of the Ford Dagenham motor car plant where the Ford sewing machinists strike of 1968 took place. Leytonstone () is an area in east London, England, north-east of Charing Cross. Part of the London Borough of Waltham Forest, a local authority district of Greater London. It adjoins Wanstead to the north-east, Forest Gate to the south-east, Stratford to the south-west, Leyton to the west, and Walthamstow to the north-west. Historically part of the ancient parish of Leyton in the Becontree hundred of Essex, the first documented evidence of settlement is from the 14th century, describing a hamlet at ‘Leyton-atte-stone’; a reference to the Roman milestone located within the area, that formed a northerm boundary of the parish. The Boleyn Ground, often referred to as Upton Park, was a football stadium located in Upton Park, east London. It was the home of West Ham United from 1904 to 2016, and was briefly used by Charlton Athletic in the early 1990s during their years of financial difficulty. The seating capacity of the ground at closure was 35,016. From the 2016–17 season, West Ham United have played their home matches at the London Stadium in nearby Stratford.
