Dagali Museum
Dagali Museum is a small local museum in Dagali, within the Hol municipality in Viken county, Norway. The museum is a subsidiary of the Hallingdal Museum. Gunnar Steensen (1870-1970) initiated the collection of historic buildings now comprising the Dagali Museum before 1900. In 1947, he bequeathed to the village of Dagali, the museum buildings and artifacts from Dagali, Skurdal, Tunhovd and Uvdal. Altogether there are 10 buildings at the museum, representing the rural culture of the 18th and 19th century. Dagali
Dagali is a small mountain village in Buskerud, Norway. Summary Dagali is located in Hol municipality. The village stretches from Pålsbufjorden on the east to the border of the Hardangervidda National Park in the west, a distance of approximately 40 km. The river Numedalslågen runs through the village. Dagali had an airport, Geilo Airport, Dagali, that is no longer in use. The site is currently used by Dagali Opplevelser, which offers outdoor recreational activities including water rafting and snowmobiling. Dagali Church (''Dagali kirke'') dates from 1850. The church was constructed of wood and has the seating capacity of around 200 people. Dagali church was rebuilt and restored during 1972–73. Viken (county)
Viken is a county under disestablishment in Eastern Norway that was established on 1 January 2020 by the merger of Akershus, Buskerud and Østfold with the addition of three other municipalities. Viken was controversial from the onset, with an approval rating of about 20% in the region, and the merger was resisted by all the three counties. Viken has been compared to gerrymandering. The county executive of Viken determined in 2019, before the merger had taken effect, that the county's disestablishment is its main political goal, and the formal process to dissolve Viken was initiated by the county executive in right after the 2021 Norwegian parliamentary election in which parties seeking to reverse the merger won a majority. Hallingdal Museum Nesbyen (formerly Hallingdal Folkemuseum) is an open-air museum at Nesbyen within Nes in Viken county, Norway. Hallingdal Folk Museum was founded in 1899. Uvdal
Uvdal is a village and former municipality in Buskerud county, Norway. It is situated in the traditional region of Numedal and is the location of the Uvdal Stave Church. The municipality was created by a split from Nore on 1 January 1901. The new municipality, which was called Opdal at the time, had a population of 1,429. The name was changed to Uvdal on 22 January 1932 by royal resolution. In 1937, a part of Uvdal with 220 inhabitants was moved to Hol municipality. Hallingdal
Hallingdal ( en, Halling Valley) is a valley as well as a traditional district located in the traditional and electoral district Buskerud in Viken county in Norway. It consists of six municipalities: Flå, Nes, Gol, Hemsedal, Ål and Hol. Hallingdal is one of the major valleys of eastern Norway, on an area of 5,830 square kilometers. Hallingdal lies in the northern part of the county of Buskerud. The valley stretches from Gulsvik by Lake Krøderen to the border with Hordaland and Sogn og Fjordane. Central to the geography is relatively flat mountain area which lies above sea level. The valley is V-shaped and is drained by the Hallingdal River which originates in the western parts of Hardangervidda and flows eastwards later southwards through Hallingdal.
