Daemen College
Daemen University is a private university in Amherst, New York and Brooklyn, New York. Formerly Daemen College and Rosary Hill College, the now-nondenominational school was founded by the Sisters of St. Francis in 1947. As of fall 2020, 2,536 students were enrolled at Daemen (1,631 undergraduate, 905 graduate), 64 degree majors were offered in the health sciences, business, and liberal arts and other disciplines for undergraduates, and 19 programs for graduate students. In March 2022, the New York State Board of Regents approved a name change to Daemen University. Main campus Located in Western New York, Daemen’s main 46.5-acre campus is in a suburban setting in Amherst, New York in the Buffalo Niagara Region. Daemen is on Main Street in Amherst and close to the New York State Thruway and I-290 and the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. The United States men's national soccer team (USMNT) represents the United States in men's international soccer competitions. Sue Falsone
Sue Falsone is an American athletic trainer. She was the Head Athletic Trainer for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Major League Baseball from 2012 to 2013, and was the first female head athletic trainer in the major American professional sports leagues. Early life Falsone grew up in Buffalo, New York. She graduated from Daemen College with a bachelor's degree in physical therapy and earned a master's degree in human movement science from the University of North Carolina. Mary Ann Esposito
Mary Ann Esposito (born August 3, 1942) is an American chef, cookbook writer, and the television host of ''Ciao Italia with Mary Ann Esposito'', which started in 1989 and is the longest-running television cooking program in America. Esposito has published over a dozen cookbooks. Personal life Esposito was raised in Buffalo, New York. Her mother was a dietitian. Her grandmothers, both professional chefs, moved to the United States from Italy in the 1890s. MaryEllen Elia
MaryEllen Elia (born 1948) is an American educator. She served for ten years as superintendent of Hillsborough County Public Schools in Tampa, Florida, but was fired by the school board, after a number of incidents that eroded the board's trust in her. Elia later served as New York State Education Commissioner. In that role, she gained recognition for easing tensions surrounding implementation of the Common Core State Standards Initiative and the question of how to evaluate teachers. She provoked controversy over the removal of school aid from struggling schools, the delayed removal of an outspoken Buffalo School Board member, and a directive requiring private schools to come into compliance with state standards. Gerald Leon Beverly (born November 18, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for Iwate Big Bulls of the Japanese B3 League. He played college basketball for the Daemen Wildcats.
