DME Academy
DME Academy is a private athletic sports training academy based in Daytona Beach, Florida for post-graduate basketball players. During its first year in existence, DME Academy's National Team, The DME Lakers, reached the National Prep Championships at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut. The DME Lakers lost to Putnam Science in the quarter-finals. In the 2016 National Prep Championships, DME was eliminated by Putnam Science Academy (93-66) History DME Academy was established in 2015 as a Post Grad Basketball Training Academy. The property sits on a ten-acre campus adjacent to the Daytona Beach Airport and within eyesight of the Daytona 500. Postgraduate Year
A postgraduate (PG) year is an extra year of secondary coursework at a boarding school following high school graduation, but before entering college. It is a gap year option intended for students who either have not applied or were not admitted to college. At most schools, postgraduate students are integrated with the senior class, where they are able to participate in the same activities and sports, as well as living and eating arrangements, as the seniors. Albertus Magnus College is a private Catholic university in New Haven, Connecticut. Founded by the Dominican Sisters of St. Mary of the Springs (now Dominican Sisters of Peace), it is located in the Prospect Hill neighborhood of New Haven, near the border with Hamden.
