DMA's Albums
DMA'S (stylised in all caps) are an Australian three-piece rock band formed in 2012 in Sydney. The band is composed of Tommy O'Dell, Matt Mason, and Johnny Took. They gained popularity for their debut single "Delete (DMA's song), Delete" and for their DMA's (EP), self-titled EP released in 2014. The band's moniker - DMA'S - comes from their former name, "The Dirty MA's". History Johnny Took, Matthew Mason and Tommy O'Dell began playing music together "for about two years" before DMA'S formed. In February 2014, DMA'S were signed to Mushroom Group, I OH YOU and released their debut single "Delete (DMA's song), Delete", which peaked at number 88 on the ARIA Charts. EA Sports is a division of Electronic Arts that develops and publishes sports video games. Formerly a marketing gimmick of Electronic Arts, in which they tried to imitate real-life sports networks by calling themselves the "EA Sports Network" (EASN) with pictures or endorsements with real commentators such as John Madden, it soon grew up to become a sub-label on its own, releasing game series such as ''FIFA'', ''NHL'', ''NBA Live'' and ''Madden NFL''. ''The Music'', (formerly known as and now incorporating ''Drum Media)'', is an online Australian music magazine. It previously existed as a street press devoted to long-form music journalism and commentary, music news, and artist interviews. In its printed form, it was based in Sydney, NSW and distributed throughout Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle and Canberra, and surrounding areas. The magazine changed its name to ''The Music'' (incorporating Drum Media) in 2013, following the merge with two other magazines, Brisbane's ''Time Off'' and Melbourne's ''Inpress'', owned by Street Press Australia. The Stone Roses
The Stone Roses were an English Rock music, rock band formed in Manchester in 1983. One of the pioneering groups of the Madchester movement in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the band's classic and most prominent lineup consisted of vocalist Ian Brown, guitarist John Squire, bassist Mani (musician), Mani and drummer Reni (musician), Reni. Oasis (band)
Oasis were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1991. Originally known as the Rain, the group initially consisted of Liam Gallagher (lead vocals, tambourine), Paul Arthurs (guitar), Paul McGuigan (bass guitar) and Tony McCarroll (drums). Liam's older brother Noel (lead guitar, vocals) later joined as a fifth member, finalising the group's core lineup. The EP was produced by the band themselves, and recorded with Dylan Adams, who also engineered the trio's 2014 self-titled EP. In a statement, Johnny Took said, "This EP was in the natural trajectory that you can sometimes take in a band. You work with different producers, and you want to keep changing, but there's also something in your core that pulls you back. It's cool to get back to your roots sometimes." 2020 AFL Grand Final
The 2020 AFL Grand Final was an Australian rules football match contested between and at the Gabba in Brisbane, Queensland, on Saturday 24 October 2020. It was the 125th annual Grand Final of the Australian Football League (formerly the Victorian Football League), staged to determine the premiers for the 2020 AFL season. ''The Glow'' (stylised in all caps) is the third studio album by Australian indie rock band DMA's. It was released on 10 July 2020. Lead single "Silver" ranked at number 20 in Triple J's Hottest 100 of 2019. Guitarist Johnny Took said of the album " t'sabout how people are always looking for something better. It's got that universal sense that anyone can relate to, that exhaustion you sometimes feel trying to achieve more or be something more." At the ARIA Music Awards of 2020, the album was nominated for four awards, including ARIA Award for Album of the Year. Liam Gallagher
William John Paul Gallagher (born 21 September 1972) is an English singer and songwriter. He achieved fame as the lead vocalist of the rock band Oasis from 1991 to 2009, and later fronted the rock band Beady Eye from 2009 to 2014, before starting a successful solo career in 2017. Like A Version
''Like a Version'' is a weekly segment on Australian youth radio station Triple J. It involves Australian and international artists playing two songs live in the Triple J studio, one of their own songs (an "original") and then a cover version, hence the name of the segment. The title is wordplay on the Madonna song " Like a Virgin". It was created by Mel Bampton as part of the ''Mel in the Morning'' program. The segment was later moved to Robbie Buck's Drive program, and then to the Breakfast Show. Due to the intimate nature of the studio, the performance is often acoustic or otherwise stripped-back, however some bands have stretched this concept. The segment has grown in popularity over the years, leading to the release of compilation CDs featuring the best covers. Some particularly well-received covers have also made it into the Triple J Hottest 100.
