1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video. The number "1080" refers to the number of horizontal lines on the screen. The "i" is an abbreviation for "interlaced"; this indicates that only the even lines, then the odd lines of each frame (each image called a video field) are drawn alternately, so that only half the number of actual image frames are used to produce video. DTX (previously known as Discovery Turbo Xtra) is a television channel focused on programming about cars owned by Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA. It is a CEEMEA version of Discovery Turbo. The channel was launched under the name Discovery Turbo Xtra to replace the European version of Discovery World, with the first launch in Poland on 17 September 2013. The channel roll-out in 2015 in Albania and in 2016 in Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Baltics, Russia, CIS, Ukraine, Turkey and MENA. In the Middle East, it was launched on 1 April 2016 on beIN Network. In November 2016 Discovery Turbo Xtra has been rebranded as DTX. The Pan-European Animal Planet is a feed of Animal Planet, which broadcasts to several countries in Europe, UK, Africa and the Middle East. The channel is broadcast in English, Czech, Hungarian and formerly Russian. The HD feed also carries a Turkish audio track. Turkey has its own SD feed. The channel also carries DVB subtitle tracks in Arabic, Bulgarian, Croatian, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, Greek, Macedonian, Norwegian, Romanian, Serbian, Slovenian and Swedish. Discovery Family is an American cable television channel co-owned by Warner Bros. Discovery and Hasbro Entertainment. The channel was originally launched by Discovery Communications on October 7, 1996 as Discovery Kids, a spin-off of Discovery Channel which primarily featured science and nature-themed programming aimed towards a youth audience. In 2010, Discovery Kids was relaunched as The Hub (later Hub Network) as part of a joint venture with Hasbro led by veteran executive Margaret Loesch. The relaunch pivoted the channel towards a general entertainment format, with dayparts targeting preschool, youth, and family audiences respectively. Discovery Science is a Southeast Asia pay television channel (excluding Malaysia, formerly including Malaysia) owned by Discovery Asia-Pacific. The channel replaced Discovery Sci-Trek. Discovery Science rebranded along with Travel Channel in Southeast Asia from 1 September 2021. Starting 15 September 2021, Astro will move the channel number of Discovery Science from 554 to 557.
