DIN (musician)
DIN (or D.I.N.) was a music project founded by Ontario-based composer Jean-Claude Cutz of Digital Poodle. Under his moniker Cutz released two albums for DOVe, ''Fantastic Planet'' and ''Decade of the Brain'', and a re-recorded version of his debut titled '' Fantastic Planet Revisited'' for Hypnotic Records. History DIN was founded in 1992 out of Canada as a solo outlet for Jean-Claude Cutz of Digital Poodle. Cutz used to say "din" as a way of imitating the cowbell sound while beatboxing. DIN's debut was released in 1992 by DOVe and titled ''Fantastic Planet''. Thematically the music is about escapism and fantasy and makes reference to horror and fantasy soundtracks. The EP ''Water Sports'' was released in 1993 and was followed by ''Decade of the Brain'' in 1994, both released by DOVe. Schwann Catalog
The ''Schwann Catalog'' (previously ''Schwann Long Playing Record Catalog'' or later ''Schwann Record And Tape Guide'') was a catalog of recordings started by William Schwann in 1949. The first edition was hand-typed and 26 pages long, and it listed 674 long-playing records (see LP record). By the late 1970s, over 150,000 record albums had been listed in Schwann. The company was honored by the record industry both at the 25th anniversary (1974) and 35th anniversary (1984). The Schwann Catalog changed hands several times, sold in 1976, then again in the late 1980s to Stereophile, then to Valley Media in the 1990s. In 2002, the company was purchased at a bankruptcy auction by Alliance Entertainment Corporation. Techno
Techno is a genre of electronic dance music (EDM) which is generally produced for use in a continuous DJ set, with tempo often varying between 120 and 150 beats per minute (bpm). ''Mondo 2000'' was a glossy cyberculture magazine published in California during the 1980s and 1990s. It covered cyberpunk topics such as virtual reality and smart drugs. It was a more anarchic and subversive prototype for the later-founded ''Wired'' magazine. History ''Mondo 2000'' originated as ''High Frontiers'' in 1984, edited by R. U.
