The Directorate General of Forces Intelligence ( bn, প্রতিরক্ষা গোয়েন্দা মহাপরিদপ্তর), commonly known as DGFI, is the military intelligence agency of the Bangladesh Armed Forces, tasked with collection, collation and evaluation of strategic and topographic information, primarily through human intelligence (Human intelligence (intelligence gathering), HUMINT). As one of the principal members of the Bangladesh intelligence community, the DGFI reports to the Director-General and is primarily focused on providing intelligence for the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Prime Minister, the Cabinet of Bangladesh, and the Bangladesh Armed Forces, Armed Forces of Bangladesh. Sadik Hasan Rumi
Sadik Hasan Rumi is a former Major General of Bangladesh Army who served as Director General of Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) from May 2002 to May 2007. Career During the 1977 Bangladesh Air Force mutiny, Captain Rumi led an operation to rescue Abdul Gafoor Mahmud, Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force. Rumi was in charge of Directorate General of Forces Intelligence during the 21 August 2004 bombing in Dhaka that tried to assassinate then opposition leader Sheikh Hasina. His help was sought by Abdul Aziz Sarkar, the Director General of Rapid Action Battalion, to capture Tajuddin, a terrorist and brother of Bangladesh Nationalist Party Minister Abdus Salam Pintu, who was the prime suspect in the 21 August bombing. ATM Amin
ATM Amin is a retired General of the Bangladesh Army. He is a former Director General of Forces Intelligence, and a former Director General of Ansar and VDP. He was forced into retirement in 2009. Career As Brigadier General he was director of counter-terrorism unit Counter Terrorism and Intelligence Bureau of the DGFI . Later he was promoted to Major General and appointed DG of DGFI. Counter Terrorism And Intelligence Bureau
Counter Terrorism and Intelligence Bureau, more commonly known as CTIB, is a Bangladeshi elite covert intelligence unit of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence, trained by DGFI, CIA and other special forces around the world. The unit is tasked with combatting terrorism, gathering information about any internal or external threat to Bangladesh and counter-attack. Chowdhury Fazlul Bari
Chowdhury Fazlul Bari was a Bangladesh Army officer and former Director General of Directorate General of Forces Intelligence. Career Bari joined the elite Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in 2004 when it was founded. As a Lieutenant colonel he served as the Additional director general of RAB. Hamidul Haque nswc, psc (born 23 June 1970) is a Major General of Bangladesh Army. He is incumbent Director General of Directorate-General of Forces Intelligence. Prior to join DGFI, he was the General officer commanding of the 17th Infantry Division and Sylhet Area Commander. Jamil Uddin Ahmed
Brigadier-General Shaheed Jamil Uddin Ahmed (1 February 1936 - 15 August 1975) was a career officer in the Pakistan Army Signal Corps and then the Bangladesh Army. Appointed as the military secretary to the President of Bangladesh in 1973, he was killed in the early hours of 15 August 1975, while he was on his way to aid the then President, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who was assassinated that night during a military coup.
