DCAU
The DC Animated Universe (DCAU; also referred to as the Timmverse or Diniverse by fans referring to the creators and producers Bruce Timm and Paul Dini respectively) is a shared universe consisting primarily of superhero-based animated television series, produced by Warner Bros. Animation and based on characters that appear in American comic books published by DC Comics. The shared universe, much like the original DC Universe in comic books, was established by crossing over common plot elements, settings, cast, and characters. The DCAU began with '' Batman: The Animated Series'' (1992–1995); it ended as an ongoing TV franchise with ''Justice League Unlimited'' (2004–2006). The associated media franchise also includes the theatrical film '' Batman: Mask of the Phantasm'' (1993), as well as direct-to-video films, shorts, comic books, video games, and other multimedia adaptations set in the same continuity. Bruce Timm
Bruce Walter Timm (born February 5, 1961) is an American artist, animator, writer, and producer. He has contributed to building the modern DC Comics animated franchise, most notably '' Batman: The Animated Series'' (1992–1995) and the subsequent DC Animated Universe (DCAU), for which Timm created most of the character designs. Timm and Paul Dini co-created the characters Harley Quinn and Terry McGinnis. Timm began his animation career as a layout artist for animation studios such as Filmation, Bakshi Productions, and Don Bluth Productions, before joining Warner Bros. in 1989. In addition to ''Batman: The Animated Series'', Timm was a producer and writer for other DCAU series such as '' Superman: The Animated Series'' (1996–2000), ''The New Batman Adventures'' (1997–1999), ''Batman Beyond'' (1999–2001), ''Justice League'' (2001–2004), and ''Justice League Unlimited'' (2004–2006). Justice League Unlimited
''Justice League Unlimited'' (''JLU'') is a 2004–2006 American superhero animated television series that was produced by Warner Bros. Animation and aired on Cartoon Network. Featuring a wide array of superheroes from the DC Comics universe, and specifically based on the Justice League superhero team, it is a direct sequel to the previous ''Justice League'' animated series and picks up around two years after where ''Justice League'' left off. Like its predecessor, the show is also a prequel to ''Batman Beyond''. ''JLU'' debuted on July 31, 2004, on Toonami and ended on May 13, 2006. It is the eighth and final series of the DC Animated Universe, which started with '' Batman: The Animated Series'' in 1992. Boomerang reran the series from June 3, 2007 to March 26, 2010, as part of Boomeraction. The Flash (or simply Flash) is the name of several superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Jonah Hex
Jonah Woodson Hex is a fictional antihero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by writer John Albano and artist Tony DeZuniga. Hex is a surly and cynical bounty hunter whose face is scarred on the right side. Despite his poor reputation and personality, Hex is bound by a personal code of honor to protect and avenge the innocent. The character was portrayed by Josh Brolin in the 2010 film adaptation of the same name. Thomas Jane provided his voice in a DC Animated short film. He is portrayed by Johnathon Schaech in ''DC's Legends of Tomorrow'' and appeared in the Arrowverse crossover "Crisis on Infinite Earths".
