ARA La Argentina (D-11)
ARA ''La Argentina'' (pennant number D-11) is the second ship of the MEKO 360, MEKO 360H2 series of four destroyers built for the Argentine Navy. The ship is the eighth ship in the history of the Argentine Navy to bear the name of the corsair frigate ''La Argentina'' which conducted a privateer raid around the world against Spanish trade in 1817. Origin ''La Argentina'' and her sister ships were authorized under the Naval Construction National Plan of 1974, an initiative by the Argentine Navy to replace old World War II-vintage warships which were nearing the end of their operational lives. A contract was signed with the Blohm + Voss Shipyards in Hamburg, West Germany for the construction of four MEKO 360H2 destroyers. Metropolitan Police Specialist Firearms Command
The Specialist Firearms Command (SCO19) is the firearms unit of the Metropolitan Police Service (Greater London, England). The Command is responsible for providing a firearms-response capability, assisting the rest of the service which is not routinely armed. They are full-time units whose members do not perform any other duties. On occasion, they have been referred to as the "blue berets", as they used to wear these. Today they are more likely to wear either blue baseball caps or combat helmets. The Colorado Springs School District 11 (District 11 or D-11) is the central school district of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Its headquarters are in that city. History The first school in Colorado Springs was organized by Mary Mellen "Queen" Palmer, wife of city founder William Jackson Palmer, in late 1871. Classes were first held in a home on the northeast corner of Cascade Avenue and Bijou Street, rented by Mrs. Palmer for the school. School District 11 was established in August 1872. The district enrollment passed 1000 by 1883 and stood at 1776 on opening day of the Colorado Springs High School building in 1893. The D11 motorway ( cs, Dálnice D11) is a highway in the Czech Republic. Plans to build a highway connecting Prague and Hradec Králové date from 1938; construction finally began in 1978. Today it consists of one continuous segment Praha - Poděbrady - Libice nad Cidlinou - Libčany - Plačice - Plotiště - Smiřice - Jaroměř and last segment Jaroměř - Trutnov - border CZ/PL (polish expressway S3) is planned and waits for permits. It is part of European route E67 "Via Baltica" from Prague in the Czech Republic to Helsinki in Finland by way of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Three lanes in each direction are planned by 2025 between Prague and Jirny (8 km) and to Poděbrady after 2025. Warthin's Tumor
Warthin's tumor, also known as papillary cystadenoma lymphomatosum, is a benign cystic tumor of the salivary glands containing abundant lymphocytes and germinal centers (lymph node-like stroma). It is named for pathologist Aldred Scott Warthin, who described two cases in 1929. Signs and symptoms Warthin's tumor primarily affects older individuals (age 60–70 years). There is a slight male predilection according to recent studies. The tumor is slow growing, painless, and usually appears in the tail of the parotid gland near the angle of the Human mandible, mandible. In 5–14% of cases, Warthin's tumor is bilateral, but the two masses usually are at different times. Warthin's tumor is highly unlikely to become malignant. LNER Class D11
The Great Central Railway Class 11F or Improved Director Class is a class of 4-4-0 steam locomotive designed by John G. Robinson for passenger work. The LNER classified them as Class D11 from 1923. They were based on the earlier GCR Class 11E "Director" class (LNER D10). There were two subclasses: D11/1 were the original GCR engines and D11/2 were those built in 1924 by the LNER to a reduced loading gauge with smaller boiler mountings for hauling passenger trains in Scotland. Operational career The 11F Class was initially used on passenger work on the GCR system, including fast expresses from Sheffield Victoria to London Marylebone. HMAS ''Vampire'' was the third of three Australian-built Daring class destroyer (1949), ''Daring'' class destroyers serving in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). One of the first all-welded ships built in Australia, she was constructed at Cockatoo Island Dockyard between 1952 and 1959, and was commissioned into the RAN a day after completion. ''Vampire'' was regularly deployed to South East Asia during her career: she was attached to the Far East Strategic Reserve on five occasions, including during the Indonesia-Malaysia Confrontation, and escorted the troop transport on six of the latter's twenty-five transport voyages to South Vietnam.
